If there’s one thing Star Wars fans are really good at, it’s speculation. Even the most minute details shared by Star Wars actors and Lucasfilm creatives get dissected for weeks, or even months, online.

This is particularly true when the notoriously tight-lipped duo behind The Mandalorian saga — showrunner Jon Favreau and executive producer Dave Filoni — make any comment that can be inferred as a leaked plot point.

With at least three Mandalorian shows currently in the works — The Book of Boba Fett, The Mandalorian Season 3, and Ahsoka — and few details available about any of them, speculation regarding the series has been running rampant.

Most recently, fans have begun wondering if an old Filoni post could actually signal a key setting in Rosario Dawson’s upcoming Ahsoka series, which is set to star her reprising her role as a live-action version of Star Wars: The Clone Wars fan-favorite, Ahsoka Tano.

A Redditor recently shared:

Not much but Ahsoka and Sabine could explore a snow planet while in the search of Ezra.

The accompanying artwork features Tano and fellow Jedi Ezra Bridger trekking across a snow-covered planet, not dissimilar to Hoth from Star Wars: Episode V – The Empire Strikes Back (1980) or Maldo Kreis, where Din Djarin (Pedro Pascal) and Grogu (AKA “Baby Yoda”) crash-landed in the Razor Crest in The Mandalorian Season 2.

Filoni’s original post accompanying the art was shared when his animated series, Star Wars Rebels — which starred Bridger (Taylor Gray) and featured Tano (Ashley Eckstein) — came to an end reads:

Thank you all for sharing your memories of Star Wars Rebels. It was a wonderful show to make, and the entire crew is humbled by your outpouring of love and support with #RebelsRemembered. I tried to think of something to sketch for all of you today, but I couldn’t come up with something from the past, so I drew a possible future instead.

It’s always good to check in on old friends, don’t you think? No, this is not a new show, just a drawing I did today for you, the greatest fans there are. Thank you.

Even though Filoni clarified that, at least at the time, the artwork was not concept art for a new Star Wars series, fans are now wondering if the setting in the drawing could make its way into Ahsoka — a show in which both Ezra Bridger and Rebels villain Grand Admiral Thrawn are slated to appear.

One commenter noted:

It could the home world of the chiss I think it’s a snow planet

Another Reddit user agreed, and noted that, although this artwork is far from confirmation of anything about Ahsoka or the future of the “Mando-verse”, it is one of the only hints Filoni has given regarding his thoughts about Tano and Bridger’s collective future:

I was thinking this same thing, I think it’s [Filoni’s original post] long enough ago to where his ideas could’ve easily changed but I think this is probably one of the only hints that we actually got right now on where Filoni’s mind is about this

Another commenter again suggested the popular characters were on the Chiss home planet of Csilla, also speculating that, instead of Bridger with Tano, the drawing actually depicts Rebels Ghost ship crew member, Sabine Wren (Tiya Sircar), who is also expected to make her live-action debut in the near future:

This is Sabine and Ahsoka on the Chiss (like Thrawn) home world of Csilla!!! Under the assumption that they’re looking for Ezra! I really hope this happened in a show!

While we can’t know for sure if Ahsoka will take fans to Csilla, it does seem likely — especially given the connections that Filoni continues to draw between Grand Admiral Thrawn and the ever-expanding Star Wars story.

Coming up, Star Wars fans can see where Favreau, Filoni, and showrunner Robert Rodriguez take us next in The Book of Boba Fett this December. Then, three new Filoni series — The Mandalorian Season 3, Ahsoka, and animated Star Wars: The Bad Batch Season 2 — are set to air in 2022.

What do you think? Did Filoni tease a visit to Csilla or is this pure speculation?
