A recent Comic Con @ Home poster caused a stir online when Star Wars fans noticed that it featured Jedi Knight Luke Skywalker (CGI Mark Hamill) and Grogu (AKA “Baby Yoda”) making what appears to be a yellow lightsaber.

Skywalker, as Mandalorian viewers undoubtedly know, was reintroduced to the Star Wars story in The Mandalorian Season 2 finale episode (“Chapter 16: The Rescue”). Wielding his green lightsaber, the iconic Jedi fought his way through the Dark Trooper squad on Moff Gideon’s (Giancarlo Esposito) Imperial cruiser to save bounty hunter Din Djarin (Pedro Pascal), Cara Dune (Gina Carano), Fennec Shand (Ming-Na Wen), Koska Reeves (Sasha Banks), and Bo-Katan Kryze (Katee Sackhoff) from certain doom.

Then, in a truly unexpected turn of events, Skywalker spirited Grogu away in his X-wing to complete his Jedi Order training. This brings us to the poster.
Star Wars fans are certainly expecting to see Grogu and Skywalker show up again in The Mandalorian saga soon — we’re just not sure precisely where. There have been rumors, of course, that the duo will reappear in The Mandalorian Season 3, but there are also reports that an as-yet unconfirmed Luke Skywalker series is in the works.

This isn’t out of the realm of possibility, particularly given that the Gina Carano-led Rangers of the New Republic spinoff was put on hold following the actress’s firing from the Star Wars franchise.
Furthermore, if the rumors that Brie Larson will be playing Luke’s Star Wars Legends wife, Mara Jade, are true, a Skywalker-centric show would be the perfect place to really showcase her character.

Regardless of when Grogu and Skywalker make their next appearance in showrunner Jon Favreau and Dave Filoni’s Mandalorian universe, Star Wars fans are absolutely elated that the tiny foundling appears to be getting his very own lightsaber. Since the Comic Con poster was officially licensed by Lucasfilm, most fans are already considering the tiny yellow lightsaber canon.

A Twitter user going by OriginalKingJulian94 pointed out that Rey’s (Daisy Ridley) yellow lightsaber wasn’t necessarily as unique as we thought, since The Mandalorian takes place about 25 years prior to the Star Wars sequel trilogy:
