In a shocking turn of events, Marvel announced that multiple upcoming projects, including Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness (2022) were being delayed by numerous months.
With Spider-Man: No Way Home (2021) and streaming series Loki changing the Marvel Universe and Marvel collection, Doctor Strange 2 finds itself in a period of reshoots and redirection of the story with new director Sam Raimi (Spider-Man) leading the way. Nonetheless, a teaser trailer of the Marvel adventure is rumored to release around next month:
The first trailer for DOCTOR STRANGE IN THE MULTIVERSE OF MADNESS is rumored to release soon! Some rumors indicate that it may drop around the time of #SpiderManNoWayHome’s release.

It’s reported that the Doctor Strange sequel went under reshoots to include critical Marvel characters that were not available when principal photography was originally taking place earlier this year.
The news has lead every Marvel fan to suspect that Tom Hiddleston (Loki), Owen Wilson (Agent Mobius M. Mobius), and Sophia di Martino (Lady Loki/Sylvie) are set to appear in the Multiverse film.

Joining the suspect Marvel collection is the X-Men, or at least some capacity of mutants. In the Marvel comics, Doctor Strange (Benedict Cumberbatch) plays an integral role in connecting the Avengers to Professor Xavier, Wolverine, Cyclops, Gene Gray, and more.
Jumping into the Marvel Cinematic Universe through the events of Loki, Spider-Man: No Way Home, and WandaVision, Doctor Strange 2 is the culmination of Strange attempting to keep the universe at bay while alternate timelines clash with his own (Earth-616).
Right in time for No Way Home, the rumored release of a teaser trailer for Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness would perfectly coincide with the future of the Marvel Universe.
It’s possible that the trailer would come out around the New Year, giving every Marvel fan enough time to witness the events of No Way Home on the big screen.
More about Spider-Man: No Way Home and Doctor Strange 2
In No Way Home, Tom Holland (Peter Parker/Spider-Man) and Zendaya (MJ) are joined by Benedict Cumberbatch (Doctor Stephen Strange), Jon Favreau (Happy Hogan), Marisa Tomei (Aunt May), Jacob Batalon (Ned Leeds), and the villain with great power Alfred Molina’s Doctor Octopus.

The Marvel Universe is becoming much more than Marvel Characters/Earth’s Mightiest Heroes like Star-Lord/Peter Quill (Chris Pratt), Iron Man (Robert Downey, Jr.), Captain America (Chris Evans), Thor (Chris Hemsworth), Doctor Strange (Benedict Cumberbatch), the Winter Soldier (Sebastian Stan), Hawkeye (Jeremy Renner), and Captain Marvel/Carol Danvers (Brie Larson).
Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield are set to appear in No Way Home. Seeing the two characters join the Marvel Cinematic Universe on the big screen will have a more significant impact on the Marvel Universe than Captain America: Civil War (2016), Avengers: Infinity War (2018), and Avengers: Endgame (2019).

Shaking up the Marvel Collection in No Way Home is Alfred Molina’s Doctor Octopus, Willem Dafoe’s Green Goblin, Lizard (Rhys Ifans), Electro (Jaime Foxx), and Sandman (Thomas Haden Church). Nonetheless, fans know that Marvel is holding out on two key players: Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield’s Spider-Man.
Each one of these iconic characters will undoubtedly influence Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness in some capacity — even if they don’t all appear in the movie.
