It’s tricky being a famous Marvel actor, especially when you’re Andrew Garfield, a previous Spider-Man actor in Sony’s historic reboot. Ahead of Spider-Man: No Way Home releasing in theaters, Andrew Garfield nearly spilled the beans on his rumored appearance in a recent interview.
Nearly every Marvel fan anticipates that previous “Spider-Men” Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield are appearing in Spider-Man: No Way Home (2021). The excitement for the Multiverse Marvel movie is ramping up, with just a week to go until the Marvel Cinematic Universe changes for good.
In a recent “Most Answered Questions” with WIRED, Andrew Garfield nearly confirmed a potential Spider-Man role:
“Is Andrew Garfield playing Spider-Man again?”
“I’m not, but I’m excited to see what they do with the next movie [#SpiderManNoWayHome]”

2021 is the year of Andrew Garfield and Hailee Steinfeld, as the two are taking over the world with groundbreaking content and films that fans can’t seem to get enough of. If Garfield truly is in No Way Home, then the world can finally be at peace and take in the year of Garfield.
While promoting his recent Netflix film Tick, Tick… Boom! (2021), Garfield sat down with WIRED. You can watch the full video below:
When asked the question, “Is Andrew Garfield playing Spider-Man again?” the actor let out a short-lived “Ye-” that sounded a lot like “Yes.”
The confidence in his voice at the start of the response was immense. Still, the actor quickly cut himself off by stating, “You almost got me!” with a smile and repeatedly said that he’s “not” playing Spider-Man again, but very excited to see what they do “with the next movie.”
Fans in the comment section were quick to defend Andrew and hope that he genuinely does make an appearance in No Way Home.
Marvel fan R52o J R wrote:
Andrew has been promoting the Spider-Man movie he “is not in” better than Sony has.
Poor Andrew, does these press tours for his new movie and just gets asked about spiderman
Another Spidey fan shared:
Andrew is definitely one of the most sweetest guys in Hollywood, he’s definitely a rare gem
Along with many actors who are rumored to appear in the upcoming Marvel film, Andrew Garfield has been dodging these sorts of questions for months. Now, thankfully, with No Way Home nearly here, fans can genuinely learn if Garfield has been telling the truth or a kind lie this entire time.
More about Spider-Man: No Way Home
In Spider-Man: No Way Home, Tom Holland (Peter Parker/Spider-Man) and Zendaya (MJ) are joined by Benedict Cumberbatch (Doctor Stephen Strange), Jon Favreau (Happy Hogan), Marisa Tomei (Aunt May), Jacob Batalon (Ned Leeds), and the villain with great power Alfred Molina’s Doctor Octopus.
If rumors are true, then No Way Home will have a more significant effect on the Marvel Universe than Captain America: Civil War (2016), Avengers: Infinity War (2018), and Avengers: Endgame (2019) combined.
Tom Holland’s Avenger/superhero character is leading the way for Marvel Cinematic Universe newcomers Ms. Marvel/Kamala Khan (Iman Vellani), Moon Knight (Oscar Isaac), Agatha Harkness (Kathryn Hahn), She-Hulk (Tatiana Maslany), Eternals’ Thena (Angelina Jolie), and more.
The Marvel Universe is becoming much more than Marvel Characters/Earth’s Mightiest Heroes like Star-Lord/Peter Quill (Chris Pratt), Iron Man (Robert Downey, Jr.), Black Widow/Natasha Romanoff (Scarlett Johansson), Captain America (Chris Evans), Thor (Chris Hemsworth), Doctor Strange (Benedict Cumberbatch), the Winter Soldier (Sebastian Stan), Hawkeye (Jeremy Renner), and Captain Marvel/Carol Danvers (Brie Larson).
No Way Home features Alfred Molina’s Doctor Octopus, Willem Dafoe’s Green Goblin, Lizard (Rhys Ifans), Electro (Jaime Foxx), and Sandman (Thomas Haden Church). Nonetheless, fans know that Marvel is holding out on two key players: Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield’s Spider-Man.
Every Marvel fan can watch Marvel’s New York explode with the Multiverse and witness great power from three Spider-Men on the big screen on December 17, 2021!
