Gina Carano — formerly New Republic Marshal Cara Dune on showrunner Jon Favreau and executive producer Dave Filoni’s hit Star Wars series, The Mandalorian — has faced more than her share of online drama due to her controversial Tweets throughout the airing of The Mandalorian Season 2.

In late 2020 and early 2021, hashtags like #FireGinaCarano#WeLoveCaraDune, and #IStandWithGinaCarano alternately trended on social media.

Carano has been vocal about her distaste for Disney and Lucasfilm, publicly stating that she was “bullied” by the powers-that-be and sharing that her new project with Ben Shapiro’s Daily Wire will “take down the Death Star”.

Per one report about the Western project:

…[filming is underway on] a fast-tracked production of Carano’s Western thriller “Terror on the Prairie.”

Directed by Michael Polish, the film follows a family of pioneers who defend themselves from a band of vicious outlaws on the prairies of Montana. The film also stars MMA fighter Donald “Cowboy” Cerrone, standup comedian Tyler Fischer and Nick Searcy (“The Shape of Water”).

Now, the actress has given the middle finger — literally — to all of her haters. Nick Searcy, who is involved with Carano’s upcoming movie, reshared a photo from Carano’s Instagram Stories captioned simply:

Carano has consistently stood up for herself and her beliefs, so this photo of her literally flipping off the entire internet is not entirely surprising. A release date for her new movie has not yet been confirmed.

As for the daughter of NFL Dallas Cowboys quarterback Glenn Carano, her return to the Star Wars galaxy has not been confirmed, though a new rumor indicates she could be back for The Mandalorian Season 4 thanks to support from showrunner Favreau and leading man Pedro Pascal (Din Djarin).

For their part, Lucasfilm has confirmed they will not recast Cara Dune and paused “active development” of her spinoff show, Rangers of the New Republic.
