If you’ve been following hit Disney+ Star Wars series, The Mandalorian, at all this year, you probably know that one actress in particular has dominated news surrounding the show’s stars — Gina Carano’s social media posts have become a hot topic throughout Season 2.

Without giving away spoilers for those who haven’t watched the Mandalorion Season 2 finale yet, Carano’s character, former mercenary and current New Republic Marshal Cara Dune, had an epic appearance in this particular episode.

Amid all of the controversy surrounding the actress, her portrayal of Dune in the second season’s final episode has sparked the hashtag #WeLoveCaraDune to explode on Twitter. This is in sharp contrast to the #FireGinaCarano hashtag that has trended off-and-on for several months.

Here, we take a look at some of the support Carano — and her kick-butt character Cara Dune — have garnered since The Mandalorian’s sophomore season finale aired yesterday, December 17.

Shannon Stewart re-shared Carano’s Tweet supporting fellow Mandalorian actress, Katee Sackhoff, who plays Star Wars Rebels and Star Wars: The Clone Wars character Bo-Katan Kryze in live action. Stewart’s caption simply included three Twitter hashtags:

Leviosa shared:

Ninja Knight expressed his support for both the Star Wars actress and her character, saying:

Just like @ginacaran in real life, Cara Dune is a tough and courageous leader. #WeLoveCaraDune

Carano herself — who is obviously active on social media — responded to all of the fans who are using the #WeLoveCaraDune tag with the following message:

Keepin this a spoiler free zone but want to give a huge shoutout to my #welovecaradune group. SO many of you have been angels to me this year. I’ll NEVER forget it. Enjoy the @themandalorian finale. Ill be crashing your YouTube channels & zooms soon for a little spotchka party.

What’s next for Cara Dune — and Gina — in the Star Wars universe has not yet been officially confirmed by Lucasfilm or The Walt Disney Company. Some online rumors have indicated that the upcoming Mandalorian spinoff, Rangers of the New Republic, will feature Cara’s new adventures as a Marhsal on Nevarro — perhaps even addressing Dr. Pershing (Omid Abtahi) and Moff Gideon’s (Giancarlo Esposito) laboratory — presumably where Grogu’s midichlorians were being experimented on — that was discovered by Dune, Greef Karga (Carl Weathers), and Din Djarin (Pedro Pascal) in The Mandalorian Chapter 12: The Siege.

Stay tuned to Inside the Magic for the latest official updates on both Mandalorian spinoffs, Rangers of the New Republic and Ahsoka featuring Rosario Dawson.
