Want to know the latest information about Disneyland Resort operations? We’ve got you covered.
From the partial reopening of Disney California Adventure to the high demand for Disney magic in California to the latest health and safety information, here’s our Disneyland news roundup for late November.
Partial Reopening of Disney California Adventure: Buena Vista Street
Buena Vista Street reopened last week on November 19 to eager Disneyland Resort Guests who couldn’t wait to set foot inside the Disney California Adventure gates. This is the first time Guests can truly experience a Southern California Disney Park — even though it is operating as an extension of Downtown Disney for the time being. And it’s safe to say that the reopening has been a success.
So, why is this an extension of Downtown Disney — or, as many of us are calling it, a “partial reopening” of DCA? Because the theme park is not currently operating as a theme park. For the time being, in order to comply with current State guidelines, Disneyland Resort is allowing Guests to experience limited shopping and dining inside Disney California Adventure. Guests can dine at Carthay Circle, eat a classic Disneyland churro, and meander the streets of this beloved California Disney Park — all without having to pay admission.
High Demand for Disneyland
The reopening of Buena Vista Street proves more than ever before that there is a high demand for magic in California. On the reopening day, Guests began lining up on Disneyland Resort property before 7 a.m. — and Downtown Disney doesn’t officially open until 10. Knowing how popular Downtown Disney was on reopening day on July 9, and seeing how popular Buena Vista Street is now, it’s clear there is a high demand for Disney magic in Southern California. We don’t yet know when Disneyland Resort will open — it’s looking like it will be sometime in 2021 — but we’re certain that fans are eager to experience any pixie dust they can get.
The high demand was also proven when Carthay Circle dining reservations opened on November 25. We waited nearly two hours online to make a reservation for Carthay Circle Lounge – Alfresco Dining (which was only taking Guests via a mobile waitlist since Buena Vista Street reopened). Click here to read all about our experience and for tips on getting a reservation amid the huge demand for this experience.
And of course, how could we forget the cheerful holiday decorations on Disneyland property? Downtown Disney and Buena Vista Street have decked the halls with boughs of holly — and there is Christmas music playing everywhere!
Avengers Campus Sneak Peek
We also got some Avengers Campus news this past week. First, Disney gave Marvel fans a sneak peek of the new attraction vehicles for the Spider-Man ride coming soon.
First, for the first time in forever, Guests can get a glimpse of the work being done on Avengers Campus inside DCA! When visiting Buena Vista Street on reopening day, November 19, we got to see workers inside the new land. It’s very exciting to see progress being made on such a highly anticipated new part of the park.
We also think we may know where one of the entrances to Avengers Campus will be. Take a look here!
Additionally, Disney is giving us more than just a sneak peek of merchandise coming soon to this Super Hero land. Very soon, Guests will actually be able to purchase Avengers Campus merchandise at Disneyland Resort. New interactive robotic toys called Spider-Bots — which will play a huge role in the new attraction WEB-SLINGERS: A Spider-Man Adventure — are coming soon to an exclusive presale event at Downtown Disney before launching at retailers. You can read all about that here.
Health, Safety, and What Guests Need to Know
Finally, Disney has released a ton of new information regarding what Guests need to know when visiting Disneyland Resort this holiday season. We want to make sure all of our readers are aware, as well.
The Disneyland Resort website is a great resource — and the Disneyland app is an even better one. These are the hubs for all of the latest information on Disneyland Resort operations. Currently, Disneyland and Disney California Adventure theme parks are not operating as they normally would. However, there is so much hope for the future. And right now, with Downtown Disney and Buena Vista Street in DCA welcoming Guests — and with Disney’s Grand Californian Hotel & Spa opening its DVC villas very soon — Guests can still experience Disney magic.
Still, it’s important to be aware of the health and safety guidelines as much as possible. On the Disneyland website and app, the company has outlined everything Guests need to know before visiting the property right now. The all-new webpage for Buena Vista Street shares operations information and health and safety protocol currently in place.
Disney has reiterated that it is highly important for Guests to abide by all of the rules — the reopening of the Southern California theme parks depends on it. Even Josh D’Amaro has been spotted chatting with Guests!
