Director James Mangold will continue to shoot around him while the appropriate course of treatment is evaluated. The filming schedule will be reconfigured as needed in the coming weeks. Disney has set the Lucasfilm action thriller for a July 29, 2022 release date.
78-year-old Ford is set to reprise his role as famed archeologist Henry Jones, Jr. for the fifth time — this will be Ford’s first time in the iconic role since Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull (2008).
The as-yet-untitled film saw Steven Spielberg step away from the director’s chair in favor of James Mangold (Logan). Spielberg, will, however, serve as executive producer. Additional producers include Lucasfilm President Kathleen Kennedy, Frank Marshall, and Simon Emanuel.
Star Wars and Indiana Jones composer John Williams is once again returning to score the fifth Indiana Jones movie.
Ford is joined in the all-star cast by Mads Mikkelsen (Fantastic Beasts 3, Rogue One: A Star Wars Story), Phoebe Waller-Bridge (Solo: A Star Wars Story), Boyd Holbrook (Logan, Gone Girl), Shaunette Renée Wilson, and Thomas Kretschmann (Avengers franchise).

It is worth noting that this isn’t Ford’s first on-set injury. The Han Solo actor sustained a severe leg injury when his limb got caught in a hydraulic door on the Millennium Falcon set while filming Star Wars: Episode VIII – The Force Awakens (2015) at London’s Pinewood Studios.
