Setting Sail on a Disney Cruise

Disney is known for great service, incredible theme parks, and so much more. In fact, most readers of this blog have experienced the excellent parks and legendary service first hand. But did you know Disney also operates the best cruise line too?

Part of the unique Disney Cruise Line experience is the way it combines three key vacation aspects. First, just like at the parks, you get Disney’s signature service. Imagine for a moment an all-inclusive vacation with service provided by your favorite cast members from the park. As amazing as some of the Disney Park cast members can be, I think service only gets better when that cast member is able to assist you in an all-inclusive environment.

Surprise Party at Sea

Next is access to beautiful beaches and locations. Relaxation on a beach in the Carribean, Bahamas, Hawaii and other tropical locations can’t be topped. Many of the cruises make a stop at Disney’s private island, Castaway Cay, my favorite of all the beach locations. Third, you have the ease and luxury of an ocean cruise. Sailing on the ocean evokes a feeling of excitement and grandeur that is unmatched on land.

Don’t take my word for it because for the past seven years straight the Condé Nast Traveler Readers’ Choice Awards have recognized Disney Cruise Line as the #1 Large Cruise Line. Despite these accolades, many vacation planners have questions, both about the cruise experience itself and whether cruising Disney Style is right for them.

Destinations

Which is more important – the perfect destination or the perfect ship?

You’re in luck that you can have both. Destinations are numerous and include the usual favorites of the Bahamas, Caribbean, and  Bermuda, plus some surprising extras such as Alaska, Hawaii, Panama Canal, Europe and more. But without a doubt, I believe Castaway Cay, Disney’s private island in the Bahamas, is the best Disney Cruise destination. Stay tuned to Inside the Magic for new cruise destination announcements, and be sure to take a look at some of our recent announcements:

Ships

Personally, I find the ships to be the most important part of any enjoyable cruise. The Disney Cruise Line fleet consists of:

Seasonal Decor

If your vacation plans have you sailing during Halloween or Christmas, you can expect the ships to be decked out for the holidays just like the parks. Inside the Magic of Disney Resorts and Cruise Line’s Halloween Celebrations gives a comprehensive look at Halloween on the High Seas. Then, come Christmas you can expect onboard gingerbread houses and holiday decorations throughout the ship.
