Hollywood A-lister Harrison Ford is currently working on his latest project with Lucasfilm, Ltd., Indiana Jones 5, in which he will reprise his role as archaeologist Henry Jones, Jr.

Ford first played the iconic role in Indiana Jones and the Raiders of the Lost Ark (1981) — on the heels of his success as Millennium Falcon pilot Han Solo in George Lucas’s original Star Wars movie, Star Wars: Episode IV – A New Hope (1977) — and most recently tackled the legendary part in Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull (2008).

Now, Ford is trending not for anything related to his long acting career, but because he is accidentally mixed up in a Georgia voter fraud controversy due to having the same name as a man involved in the ongoing situation, which also involves Kanye West and former President Donald Trump.
As a Reuters article summarized:
Weeks after the 2020 election, a Chicago publicist for hip-hop artist Kanye West traveled to the suburban home of Ruby Freeman, a frightened Georgia election worker who was facing death threats after being falsely accused by former President Donald Trump of manipulating votes. The publicist knocked on the door and offered to help.
The visitor, Trevian Kutti, gave her name but didn’t say she worked for West, a longtime billionaire friend of Trump. She said she was sent by a “high-profile individual,” whom she didn’t identify, to give Freeman an urgent message: confess to Trump’s voter-fraud allegations, or people would come to her home in 48 hours, and she’d go to jail.
The report went on to share the following details about the bizarre situation:
“You are a loose end for a party that needs to tidy up,” Kutti continued. She added that “federal people” were involved, without offering specifics.
According to Freeman, Kutti told her that she was going to put a man named “Harrison Ford” on speakerphone. (Freeman said the man on the phone wasn’t the actor by the same name.) Kutti said the man had “authoritative powers to get you protection,” the bodycam footage shows.
Now, despite the fact that the actual Harrison Ford — whose distaste for the Star Wars franchise (and Force ghosts) is well-documented — isn’t involved in the election fraud allegations, the internet is having a field day, making all sorts of quippy remarks about the acting legend.
Amy Davis Roth hilariously wrote:
Does Kanye think he is Harrison Ford in this scenario or ?
And Kim [Kanye’s ex-wife Kim Kardashian] is looking pretty wise to have jumped ship sooner rather than later.
She followed up with:
Who among us hasn’t wanted Harrison Ford to swoop in and rescue us in a fighter plane? I mean, right? That’s a very tempting offer.

A Twitter user going by Phlip succinctly summed up the entire situation:
Harrison Ford is trending because Trump told Kanye West to tell his publicist to tell a poll worker to say that “Democrats cheated!” – and the publicist named dropped Harrison Ford.

Ian J. Spalding is “relieved” that the bizarre situation has been (somewhat resolved):
I was kind of relieved when she explains it’s a different Harrison Ford. I’m still not sure it’s a real guy, though, you can imagine he’s hard to Google.
