It’s a big week for Disney+ subscribers.
Disney previously shared the news that Disney+ Day, in honor of the Disney+ two-year anniversary, will be celebrated on Friday, November 12. The celebration brings new, exciting shows to Disney+, new trailers, and a whole host of exclusive content.
It was revealed this week that Disney+ subscribers will also enjoy an array of special perks IN the Parks themselves. The “Blue Carpet” is getting ready to be rolled out this Friday at Disney Parks across the globe, but some Guests think Disney is doing more for this anniversary than Walt Disney World’s 50th celebration.

Disney+ has brought fans a ‘whole new world’ of television series and movies from Marvel, Star Wars, and more. The Mandalorian’s two seasons have been a big hit for Disney+, introducing fan-favorite Grogu (or Baby Yoda) to Disney fans.
Kevin Feige’s Marvel Cinematic Universe exploded onto the streamer with releases like WandaVision, The Falcon and the Winter Soldier, Loki, and What If…?, with Jeremy Renner’s upcoming Hawkeye series eagerly awaited by Marvel fans.
Disney CEO Bob Chapek evidently has a big focus on the Disney streaming service, with The Walt Disney Company finding ways to integrate the streaming platform into the Parks. Characters from Loki and The Falcon and the Winter Soldier have appeared at Disneyland’s Avengers Campus, while merchandise from the streaming service shows has been found in most stores.

Now, Disney has announced that on Disney+ Day, Disney Parks will be offering numerous benefits to Disney+ subscribers.
Additionally, Disney+ subscribers at Disney Hollywood Studios and Disneyland Park will be welcomed with a blue carpet experience, including special photo opportunities throughout the parks.
There will also be special experiences and appearances for Disney+ Day. Disneyland Paris’ event will bring new fireworks to the fan-favorite The Twilight Zone Tower of Terror, while Guests can enjoy a free special dessert with En Coulisse menus
Guests are also speculating over who the fan-favorite Disney+ characters will be joining the festivities with appearances around the Parks. Many believe it will be Grogu and the Mandolorian.
All of these special events and perks are being compared by Disney Guests to the offerings for Walt Disney World’s 50th. The 50th has seen new fireworks – Enchantment and EPCOT’s Harmonious – as well as the new Beacons of Magic, EARidescent merchandise, ‘Fab 50’ sculptures, and a Cinderella Castle makeover.

Social media is rife with Guests wondering if Disney is celebrating the two-year anniversary of Disney+ more than the 50th anniversary of Walt Disney World:
Anyone else feel like Disney+ Day is getting more hype than WDW’s 50th did?

Another Guest commented on the lack of special characters for the 50th:
Anyone else find it interesting that disney is bringing out special characters for disney plus day but they didn’t do it for disney world’s 50th?

While another commented on the fact this is one day versus a whole 18-month celebration for the 50th anniversary at Disney World:
To be fair, Disney never sold 10/1 as a day like none other — rather, they’ve continually said that the 50th Celebration will last for 18 months. New experiences, attractions & enhancements will continue to roll out. Only the fans created the idea that 10/1 was “the big day.”
