Two years ago, The Walt Disney Company launched its streaming service — Disney+ — to the joy of fans across the globe. While it took a while for Disney+ to make its way into various international markets, the streamer became a huge highlight with shows like Jon Favreau’s The Mandalorian and the animated classic library catapulting its success.

November 12, 2021, will mark the second anniversary of Disney+, and while the service itself will have many new additions and potential sneak peeks, Disney Parks are also joining in the celebrations with Disneyland Paris’ event bringing new fireworks to the fan-favorite The Twilight Zone Tower of Terror.

Since its inception, Disney+ has brought fans a multitude of television series and movies from Marvel, Star Wars, and more. The aforementioned The Mandalorian has already run two seasons with another on the way and Kevin Feige’s Marvel Cinematic Universe further boosted the streamer with releases like WandaVision, The Falcon and the Winter Soldier, Lokiwhich debuted as the most-watched premiere — and What If…?.

For Star Wars, the upcoming Obi-Wan Kenobi, Ahsoka, Andor, and The Bad Batch Season 2 will join Mando and the soon-to-be-released The Book of Boba Fett in Lucasfilm’s TV show originals for Disney+.

Disney+ Premier Access has also been there for fans across the world looking to get the newest blockbusters streamed directly into their homes. Dwayne Johnson and Emily Blunt’s Jungle Cruise (2021) and Scarlett Johansson’s Black Widow (2021) have been notable releases, with the latter causing controversy for its star and The Walt Disney Company after a lawsuit ensued following Black Widow‘s release.

Disney’s celebration Disney+ will also be celebrated at the Walt Disney World Resort in Florida, Disneyland Resort in Anaheim, California, and Disneyland Paris in Chessy, France. For Paris, Disney Parks will pull out all the stops with new treats, new character appearances, a Hollywood blue carpet, and even a grand finale at the Disney theme park at the Tower of Terror.

Disney Parks Blog has the full details for the Disney+ Day event at Disneyland Paris:

Disney+ Day is coming to Disneyland Paris too with a special celebration taking place at Walt Disney Studios Park for all guests to enjoy!* Be the star you are, and strut the blue carpet in true Hollywood style, stopping along the way for selfies with Disney characters dressed in blue for the occasion.

Relax between takes in an eatery reminiscent of the Golden Age of Hollywood at Restaurant en Coulisse – and don’t miss the chance to indulge in a complimentary Disney+ Day-inspired treat offered with each menu item purchase. Disney+ Day photo locations will plus up your pics with special character appearances (both in-person and virtual); and to culminate the celebration, Walt Disney Studios Park will remain open for 30 extra minutes with a grand finale illuminating the Tower of Terror in blue.

For a quick wrap up of the events at Walt Disney Studios Park — Disney’s Hollywood Studios sister Park –, DLP Report (@DLPReport) on Twitter has all the details:

Details of #DisneyPlusDay, Nov 12 at Disneyland Paris!
– walk the blue carpet
– free special dessert with En Coulisse menus
– very rare characters Selfie Spots, & VIPs in blue outfits
– closing show on Tower of Terror with fireworks!

While Disney is holding back on just what this “grand finale” will be, we know from their announcement that it will include coating the Park staple in blue light. In a similar vein, the “rare” character appearances coming to Disneyland Paris — and note that the announcement states just Walt Disney Studios Park and not Disneyland Park for the celebrations — are yet to be revealed but they will, like the Tower of Terror, be in all-new blue outfits.

It is good to see that Disney+ Day has transcended its television roots and Guests at Disney Parks can also enjoy events while on their Disney vacation. Disneyland Paris will also be celebrating its own milestone next year when its 30th anniversary celebrations begin — Guests visiting the Park may also experience the new Avengers Campus coming soon!
