Have you ever wished to become an Avenger? Wondered what it would feel like to sling webs like Spider-Man? Dreamed about what it would feel like to save the day like a real-life superhero? What is WEB SLINGERS: A Spider-Man Adventure?

WEB SLINGERS: A Spider-Man Adventure is the newest interactive ride that can be found at Disney California Adventure Park and puts you right in the heart of Avengers Campus.

Your adventure begins at Avengers Headquarters in the WEB — Worldwide Engineering Brigade — facility, where Peter Parker (played by actor Tom Holland) is going to show you some of the exciting new technology being designed by young geniuses from around the world — including his new robotic sidekick, the Spider-Bot. Unfortunately, things go a little haywire during the presentation.

Embark on an action-packed adventure alongside the amazing Spider-Man! When Peter Parker’s helpful but otherwise buggy Spider-Bots get stuck in replication mode and escape from a WEB Workshop, Spider-Man must stop the rampaging robots before they wreak total techno-havoc across Avengers Campus. Problem is, they’re rapidly leveling up and becoming tough to beat!

Your task? Hop aboard a WEB Slinger vehicle and help weave a frenzied web to trap these friendly neighborhood sidekicks in true Spidey style. It’s up to you to unleash your inner hero and save the Campus from complete chaos!

What Type of Ride is WEB SLINGERS: A Spider-Man Adventure?

WEB SLINGERS is an interactive 3D ride that puts the Disney Park Guest right in the center of the action. It can best be compared to Toy Story Midway Mania! — found on Pixar Pier in California Adventure.  Like the targets you shoot in Midway Mania, the more Spider-Bots you destroy, the more points you score. However, unlike Toy Story Midway Mania, WEB SLINGERS is a fully immersive attraction.

After the Spider-Bots start to replicate and get out of control, they get into some radioactive material, courtesy of The Collector, Taneleer Tivan — and that is where things truly get out of control. Guests are ushered out of the WEB presentation room and given 3D glasses before they board their WEB Slinger vehicle.

Once inside the WEB Slinger ride vehicle — which can fit up to four people per side — your team will put on their 3D glasses and prepare to help Spider-Man destroy the out-of-control Spider-Bots.

Now, you will see different colored Spider-Bots and the different colored Spider-Bots have different points values. From the lowest point value to highest, the Spider-Bots colors are as follows:

  • Red – the Spider-Bot is normal
  • Blue – the Spider-Bot is about to self-replicate
  • Green – the Spider-Bots have gotten into the radioactive goo and are unstable
  • Gold – Spider-Bots have a heat shield surrounding them (they are rare and worth a lot of points)

When you see the Spider-Bots, simply flick your wrists and fling webs, just like Spider-Man! The technology on the ride reads your arm movements and sends the webs exactly where you want them to go. The faster you move your wrists, the more webs you sling and the more Spider-Bots you catch, which means a higher score.

At the end of the adventure, each Guest will receive an individual score, as well as a cumulative team score. Score high enough, and you may see your score on the big screen. Just like Toy Story Midway Mania! WEB SLINGERS shows the best score for the hour, the day, and the month.

Who Can Ride WEB SLINGERS: A Spider-Man Adventure?

What makes WEB SLINGERS so great — as well as different from other Disneyland Resort adventure rides — is that there is no height requirement for Guests who want to ride! Guests of all heights and ages are welcome to board a WEB Slinger vehicle and fight to save the day. Although, if a Guest is under 7 and would like to ride, they must be accompanied by another Guest over the age of 14.

WEB SLINGERS does require those Guests in wheelchairs to be able to get out of their wheelchair to transfer into the ride vehicle. For those Guests who are hard of hearing, Guest Relations locations can provide them with Active Listening/audio amplification devices, which can also be used on other attractions.

For those Guests who are visually impaired, Guest Relations locations can also provide them with a Handheld Captioning device — which can be used on numerous attractions, including WEB SLINGERS.

Looking For Extras in the Game

What makes WEB SLINGERS an even more interactive attraction is that Spider-Bots are not the only thing Guests are able to sling webs at for points. On your journey, you may see doors or cubbyholes, don’t let those go to waste! Sling your webs at those, and you may find hidden spots that will help you get an even higher score.

Walt Disney Imagineer Brent Strong described the numerous ways Guests will be able to secure points.

“Webs actually allow you to not just blast spider bots but interact with the environments. You can pull doors off of shipping containers. You can activate conveyor belts. You can grab onto things and move them around. The level of control that you have is amazing.” And for those players who are looking to unlock hidden things you might not find the first time, “There are so many fun things to discover along the way, layers, and layers, and layers of gameplay for our die-hard gamers, and layers, and layers, and layers of fun for comic fans, just really leaning into all of the details that this world has.”

Purchase a Power Band

Found at a number of locations in Avengers Campus like WEB Suppliers and the Campus Supply Pod — as well as the Disneyland Resort Backlot Premier Store — the WEB Power Band will allow Guests to have special powers on the WEB SLINGERS ride.

The WEB Power Band will fit on your wrist and hand and allow you to shoot more webs as you play. The base WEB Power Band cost is $35, with upgrades available to give your Power Bands a Spider-Man, Spider-Gwen (aka Ghost Spider), Iron Man, or Rescue theme.

The Spider-Man and Ghost Spider Power Bands will allow Guests to shoot electro dynamic webs at the Power Bots on WEB SLINGERS. That will enable Guests to take out more than one Spider-Bot at a time.

The Iron Man and Rescue WEB Power Bands will allow Guests to shoot repulsor cannon blasts at Spider-Bots while riding the attraction. This will also take out more Spider-Bots at one time, increasing Guests potential scores.

How to Ride WEB SLINGERS

Much like Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance, WEB SLINGERS: A Spider-Man Adventure operates on a virtual queue system. There is no official standby line for the attraction at this time.

Disney Park Guests wanting to ride WEB SLINGERS will have two daily opportunities to join a Boarding Group. The first Boarding Group chance will be at 7 a.m. — Guests with a valid Disney California Adventure theme park reservation on that day can join from anywhere since the park isn’t open yet, and you do not have to be on Disney property to join.

The second Boarding Group opportunity will come at noon and Guests trying to join that Boarding Group must be scanned into either Disneyland Park or Disney California Adventure. Guests who have had their ticket scanned into Disneyland Park will need a valid Park Hopper ticket in order to join a Boarding Group.

Tips For Joining a WEB SLINGERS Boarding Group

Due to the extreme popularity of WEB SLINGERS, Boarding Groups for the Disney Park attraction will fill up in a matter of seconds. While that it can make it extremely difficult to get a Boarding Group, there are some extra steps that Guests can take to help them try to join a group.

Make Sure Your Disneyland App Is Up-to-Date and That You Are Logged In

Having the most recent version of the Disneyland app will make sure that you won’t run into any hiccups while trying to join your Boarding Group. Once the app is up-to-date, make sure you are logged into the app.

Make Sure All of Your Group’s Tickets Are Uploaded in the App

If you try to join a Boarding Group, but not all of your party’s tickets are uploaded into your app, you will be the only one riding the attraction. If each member of your party tries to get their own Boarding Group, you will most likely not be riding together.

Have More Than One Person in Your Party Try For a Boarding Group

As the saying goes, there is power in numbers. The more people in your party who try to join a Boarding Group for your entire party, the more of a chance you will have at successfully getting a Boarding Group number.

Turn OFF Your Cell Phone’s WiFi If You Are at the Park

Your phone will work faster if you are not connected to the internet at the theme park. For one, Disneyland Resort’s internet can be spotty. Second, hundreds of other people will be using the WiFi, which will slow it down.

If You Can, Go to a Less Crowded Area

This is mainly for Guests trying to join a Boarding Group at noon. The busier the area of the Park, the slower your connection could be. While this is not full-proof, being in a less crowded Park area could help your phone work faster.
