The Disneyland Resort is reopening its original theme park after an unprecedented year-long closure. While that reopening may symbolize things getting back to normal, or a new normal, we are still deep in the COVID-19 pandemic.

Keeping this in mind, and in order to keep Guests as safe as possible during their park visit, Disneyland is telling Guests how they can maximize their trip and minimize their interactions at both Disneyland and Disney California Adventure.

Digital technology at Disneyland

Disney Parks Blog recently released a list describing multiple ways Guests can use digital technology while at the theme parks. The list includes the following:

  • Plan Ahead With Mobile Order
  • Join the Virtual Queue for Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance
  • Take Advantage of Disney’s PhotoPass Opportunities
  • Join a Mobile Dining Walk-Up List
  • Dining Reservation Check-In

Rise of the Resistance

For Guests who want to ride Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance, downloading the Disneyland Resort mobile app is necessary. Rise of the Resistance will be operating solely on a virtual queue, so you can only try to get in line for the attraction through the Disneyland Mobile App.

Upon Disneyland’s reopening, Guests will be able to access the virtual queue beginning at 7 a.m. with another opportunity to join a boarding group at 12 p.m. that same day. Keep in mind, Guests can only join the virtual queue once per day.

Disney notes that, while there will be a reduced capacity in the theme park, there is no guarantee that all Guests who want to will be able to ride Rise of the Resistance. Disney shared:

You must have a valid admission ticket and theme park reservation for Disneyland park. Access to a Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance boarding group is subject to availability and not guaranteed. In order to give as many Guests as possible the opportunity to join the Resistance, each Guest can enter the virtual queue no more than once per day. Distribution times are subject to change or cancellation.  Joining the virtual queue does not guarantee the ability to experience Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance.

Mobile Order

Guests visiting the theme parks are also encouraged to use the Disneyland Mobile App to mobile order food throughout the day. Mobile Order makes it so easy to order food from various dining locations, no matter where you are in the parks!

Guests can open the app, see the Mobile Order menus, place their Mobile Order from available locations, then pick up their food from that location at a dedicated time.

The Disneyland Mobile App is also great for all the PhotoPass photos you take throughout the day! Disneyland Resort PhotoPass photographers are placed throughout the theme park and can take photos of your party in front of iconic Disneyland spots. Pro-tip — make sure to ask about the Magic Shots. They will add some extra fun to your Disneyland photos!

Disneyland Mobile App

The Disneyland Mobile App is truly an invaluable asset for Guests visiting the theme park. Not only can you Mobile Order food, but you can also see current ride wait times throughout the park. If an attraction is down, the app will tell you. It can also help you find hand sanitizer locations throughout the resort to help you stay extra safe.

Using the Disneyland Mobile App will really make things easier and help you maximize your time in the parks.
