How Rise of the Resistance Will Work Once Disneyland Reopens - Inside the Magic

If you are both a California resident and a Star Wars fan, you are probably just itching for April 30 to get here so that you can re-enter Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge and experience Batuu once again! 

Considering Galaxy’s Edge was open for just a few months before Disneyland Resort had to shut down due to the pandemic, there is still a lot of exploring that Star Wars fans need to do! Plus, having watched hundreds of Guests post about Rise of the Resistance over in Disney World the past few months, we are sure that there are many young Jedi’s who want to hop on the west coast version of the attraction. 

Well, if you remember, Rise of the Resistance worked off a virtual queue system that Guests could access once per day, and now, like Disney’s Hollywood Studios Guests, Disneyland Guests, though can still only obtain one boarding group, will have two opportunities to do so!

Disney Parks Blog explained how the Boarding Pass system will work when Disneyland reopens:

If you’re starting your day at Disneyland park, access the Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance virtual queue from wherever you are, beginning at 7 a.m.
As previously mentioned, we will continue using a virtual queue system for Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance. The attraction’s virtual queue is only accessible via the Disneyland mobile app, and you can only experience the attraction by joining the virtual queue. Beginning April 30, our distribution times for the virtual queue enrollment will be at 7 a.m. and 12 p.m. daily.**

Guests with a valid ticket and theme park reservation who will start their day at Disneyland park will be able to access the virtual queue system with the mobile app and check for an available boarding group starting at 7 a.m. on the day of their park reservation. This can be done before you leave your hotel, home, or wherever else you may be at that time! Guests will need to have their park tickets linked to their Disney account.

If you don’t begin your day at Disneyland park, you may still be able to access the virtual queue opportunity beginning at 12 p.m. Guests who have a valid ticket and park reservation, and have entered Disney California Adventure park with a Park Hopper ticket by noon, may access the virtual queue system to check for available boarding groups beginning at 12 p.m. Such guests who obtain a boarding group may then enter Disneyland park with their Park Hopper ticket after 1 p.m. for their boarding group, subject to availability. So if all of the Boarding Passes are gone in the morning when you try — Do not fret! Guests can now try again at 12:00 pm. The good thing for Guests to know is that with reduced capacity, there is less competition to snag those passes, so hopefully, everyone who wants to ride will be able to.

That being said, if you don’t get one, you can still enjoy Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run and a Ronto Roasters wrap, which to me, also sounds like a magical day!
