Today, many Disney Cast Members are posting their excitement on Instagram —Â and they’re especially excited about one specific ride at Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge.
You guessed it, Guests are elated to get back on Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance after more than a year!
First boarding groups of 2021!
As Disneyland Cast Members and their Guests returned to Disneyland Park today, the force was strong as man shared they were among the first to successfully obtain boarding groups for the star destroyer ride, Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance.

Travel blogger @thecalibae shared another screenshot from an excited Cast Member who was able to secure a boarding group for today’s preview event — it is worth noting that this Disneyland preview day is for CMs and their Guests:

Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance
If you have never experienced this ride, be prepared to be immersed in what feels like an actual Star Wars scene right out of a movie! This Disney attraction which is also located in Walt Disney World at Disney’s Hollywood Studios lets Guests join the Resistance in a galactic showdown between the light side and the dark side. This ride vehicle takes you through an intense journey and even drops unexpectedly.

 The Rise of the Resistance virtual queue in Disneyland will offer Guests two chances to snag a Boarding Group: once at 7 a.m. and once at 12 p.m. Guests can experience this Disney attraction by opening the Disneyland mobile app and attempting to reserve a spot in the virtual queue. Just like Disney World, It is important to note that Guests are not guaranteed to get a boarding group number.
Guests with a valid ticket and theme park reservation who will start their day at Disneyland park will be able to access the virtual queue system with the mobile app and check for an available boarding group starting at 7 a.m. on the day of their park reservation. This can be done before you leave your hotel, home, or wherever else you may be at that time! Guests will need to have their park tickets linked to their Disney account.
If you don’t begin your day at Disneyland park, you may still be able to access the virtual queue opportunity beginning at 12 p.m. Guests who have a valid ticket and park reservation, and have entered Disney California Adventure park with a Park Hopper ticket by noon, may access the virtual queue system to check for available boarding groups beginning at 12 p.m. Such guests who obtain a boarding group may then enter Disneyland park with their Park Hopper ticket after 1 p.m. for their boarding group, subject to availability.
