Happy 20th birthday, Disney California Adventure Park! Disney announced today that Disneyland Resort will soon be hosting a limited-time ticketed experience at Disney California Adventure. Disney foodies, rejoice!

Though all the details are still unknown, Disney shared with Inside the Magic today that the limited-time ticketed experience hosted at Disney California Adventure Park will begin mid-March and welcome Guests to the park. Although no attractions will be open for this event (as large theme parks in California are currently closed), Disney California Adventure will offer plenty of opportunities for fun, food and beverages, merchandise, and more.
Disney also shared that this means over 1,000 Disneyland Resort Cast Members will be returning to work.

Disneyland Resort President Ken Potrock shared the following in a letter to Cast Members:
Currently planned to begin mid-March, we will debut an all-new, limited-time ticketed experience, focused on our world-famous food and beverage offerings from around the resort, the latest merchandise and unique, carefully crafted entertainment experiences…all to be offered multiple days a week. With limited capacity and enhanced health and safety measures in place, Guests once again will get to step into a magical Disney environment — an environment that will provide memorable and fun experiences our Guests are craving.

A name for the event has not yet been revealed, and we are also not sure how much tickets will cost (or if there will be a discounted ticket opportunity for Legacy Passholders, the former Disneyland Annual Passholders). Disneyland President Ken Potrock shared that “teams across the resort are currently developing this distinctly Disney experience, so there are many more details to come,” so we expect to receive more information in the coming weeks.
Also, note that the highly anticipated Marvel-themed land Avengers Campus will not be included in this event. However, hopeful Guests, Legacy Passholders, and Disneyland fans can look forward to this special event on the horizon this March.

Disney fans will note that this new foodie event coming to DCA will start the same month that the annual Disney California Adventure Food & Wine Festival typically begins. Though Disney has not shared that this event will be known as a Food & Wine Festival, we are certainly excited to find out more.
It also appears, given the nature of the upcoming event, that much more of the theme park will be open for Guests to walk around — so you could have the opportunity to see more of Disney California Adventure than you have since the Disneyland Resort theme parks began their temporary closure in mid-March 2020.

As a reminder, Disneyland Park and Disney California Adventure Park are currently closed amid the ongoing pandemic, per the theme park reopening guidelines in place in California. The hotels of the Disneyland Resort (the Disneyland Hotel, Disney’s Paradise Pier Hotel, and Disney’s Grand Californian Hotel & Spa) are still temporarily closed. The Downtown Disney District (and, by extension currently, Buena Vista Street inside Disney California Adventure) is open for shopping and dining only. You can view the most up-to-date operations information on the Disneyland website here.
Stay tuned to Inside the Magic for more information on Disneyland Resort operations and this new California Adventure event coming soon.
