Wow. We’re only 1 WEEK away from the release of Marvel’s Spider-Man: No Way Home (2021), and it seems fans may have just received the cast confirmation they’ve been looking for.
There has been intense speculation the last few months over the plot and cast for Kevin Feige’s upcoming Marvel Cinematic Universe movie.
Every Marvel fan is ready to see the Sinister Six from Marvel Comics make their live-action Marvel Universe debut in No Way Home and take on the web-slinging Avenger, and now it seems spoiler-prone Tom Holland may have accidentally confirmed the movie’s biggest rumor.
Marvel Studios has been subjected to fan theories, rumors, and even illegal “leaks” of Spider-Man: No Way Home (2021) for well over a year.
The official trailer for Jon Watts’ No Way Home broke the internet last month, with No Way Home seeming to be the most anticipated movie in the Marvel Cinematic Universe since Avengers: Endgame (2019).
With the appearance of characters like Willem Dafoe’s Green Goblin and Alfred Molina’s Doctor Octopus from Sam Raimi’s Spider-Man and Marc Webb’s The Amazing Spider-Man franchises in the trailer, fans believe that Peter Parker actors Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield will be appearing alongside Tom Holland in No Way Home.
Holland has already been the subject of many Spider-Man spoilers, with a recent reaction video to the second Spider-Man: No Way Home trailer made by Tom Holland, Jacob Batalon, and Zendaya showing Holland’s confusion at Sony editing Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield’s Spider-Man heroes out of the shot with him in it.
Now, Tom Holland has confirmed that the three Spider-Man actors have chemistry off-set, as he shares a group chat with Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield.
During a recent interview with BBC Radio 1, Tom Holland revealed that he has a WhatsApp group chat with fellow Spider-Man stars, Maguire and Garfield. And yes, we squealed!
MCU actor Holland confirmed he was the one to set up the chat after he got Tobey Maguire’s number and decided they “can’t all share each other’s numbers and not have a group chat:”
“We actually do have a WhatsApp group. I don’t know how it got set up, but we bumped into Tobey [Maguire] at a Japanese restaurant a while ago, and I took his number. And then, I think I set it up, I was like, ‘Guys listen we can’t all share each other’s numbers and not have a group chat.’ I think I’m the only one that’s ever spoken in it. What’s up other Spider-Mans?!”
The video posted by BBC Radio 1 seems to confirm that both Maguire and Garfield HAVE to be in No Way Home. Holland appears to try to cover up his revelation with the whole “I’m the only that’s ever spoken in it” comment, but the actual existence of this group chat between the three Spider-Man actors has to be the final leak that nails this rumor down.
Zendaya’s nervous laughter as Holland reveals the existence of the What’s App group seems to also pinpoint the spoiler-y nature of Tom’s chat.
Some might even call it a “Web Chat”, between the three Spider-Men.
