Exciting news came out of Walt Disney World Resort on Thursday when it was announced that trams would be returning to Magic Kingdom after more than a year and a half without the beloved parking lot transportation.
With Guests returning at higher volumes and numbers steadily rising inside the Parks, parking lots were beginning to fill up, making for longer walks to the Monorail Station.

Disney Parks tweeted a video sharing that Magic Kingdom trams will return in December, followed by the parking lot transportation system returning at Disney’s Hollywood Studios, Disney’s Animal Kingdom, and EPCOT in 2022.
“Driver you are clear…to spread a little holiday cheer! Parking trams will be returning to Magic Kingdom Park later this month and other Walt Disney World theme parks throughout 2022!”

While many Disney fans were excited to see the trams return, there were some who made the point that the transportation system was vital and should have never been gone, to begin with.

Troy (@ttmbking) tweeted that having the trams should be a given for Disney.
“This is the standard? Are you also going to announce the bathrooms having soap? Trams should have been back when the parks reopened.”

Brayden (@SirBrayden) said Disney was trying to use the trams returning as a “marketing strategy.”
“It’s one thing to quietly bring back something due to public pressure, it’s another thing to try to use ‘hey we brought back a basic service that never should have been offline’ as a MARKETING STRATEGY. HAHAHA”

“I love how after a year and a half of the pandemic, they just announce things that should have already returned as if it’s a brand-new attraction.”

Cutina Faniel (@ladyfaniel) shared that they had recently visited Walt Disney World Resort and had to walk quite a distance to get to the wheelchair station.
“I went last week and it was terrible for older guest , pregnant guest who’s needing a wheelchair . It’s said that they had to walk almost a mile to get to a wheelchair. Disney is 100 % wrong for this foolishness.”

No matter where you fall on the spectrum, it’s clear that the Disney trams were missed and that they will certainly be utilized here once they make their return.
