When the Walt Disney World Resort closed due to COVID-19 in March 2020, little did we know just how much of an impact the pandemic would have on Disney. When the Parks began phased reopenings in the summer of 2020 we were thrilled to once again enjoy the Parks and Disney Resorts. Unfortunately, many experiences such as entertainment favorites and restaurants were put on hold. We’ve seen Disney buses, the Disney Skyliner, and Monorail resume… but parking trams have remained closed.

If you’ve driven to the Disney World Parks recently, chances are you’ve realized just how much the trams are missed! As if walking around the Parks isn’t exhausting enough, the walk from the parking lot to the Disney Park adds to those Disney steps. The tram will be cruising in to help soon enough!
As tweeted by Disney Parks: “Driver you are clear…to spread a little holiday cheer! Parking trams will be returning to Magic Kingdom Park later this month and other Walt Disney World theme parks throughout 2022!” Check out the quick video below:

We’re thrilled that FINALLY, parking lot trams are making a comeback – even if it is just Magic Kingdom Park for the month of December. With 2022 right around the corner, we’re keeping our fingers crossed that Disney means early 2022 for the EPCOT, Disney’s Hollywood Studios, and Disney’s Animal Kingdom trams to return.
In the meantime, we’ll be sure to share an update as soon as Disney reveals the official day we can expect to ride a tram through the Transportation and Ticket Center (TTC) for Magic Kingdom access.
