As Disney World Returns to Normal, One Major Amenity Still Missing - Inside the Magic

As Walt Disney World continues to modify its operations as the world fights the ongoing pandemic, there is still one amenity that has yet to make a return — and Guests are not happy about it.

Due to the ongoing pandemic, Walt Disney World made several changes to its operations, including suspending FastPass+, character meet and greets, parades, and more. One of the changes Guests were waiting for was the return of the EPCOT Monorail now that Guests can once again Park Hop. Luckily, Disney World has just announced the EPCOT Monorail will resume operations, but now Guests are wishing to see another amenity return — the parking trams.

Typically, Guests who drive to any of the four Walt Disney World Resort theme parks — Magic Kingdom, Disney’s Animal Kingdom, EPCOT, or Disney’s Hollywood Studios — have the option of taking a tram after parking in order to save themselves from walking such a long distance upon arrival. However, when the theme parks reopened last summer after being temporarily closed due to the ongoing pandemic, the tram service did not return.

Now, as Walt Disney World continues modifying its operations as we move forward amid the ongoing pandemic, many are hoping to see the tram service make a comeback in the near future.

Note that, at this time, trams have also not yet returned to the Disneyland Resort in California.

To be fair, can be rough at Disney World now too. That parking lot is massive and there are no trams right now. Then you have to stand in line for the Ferry or Monorail to go across the Seven Seas Lagoon to the Magic Kingdom.

Another Disney fan, who goes by Disney fan boy (@MedberyKarl) on Twitter, is beginning to wonder if the Disney World tram service will ever come back:

At this time, Disney World has not announced when the tram service would resume its operations. As of June 2021, planDisney confirmed the tram service is still suspended, but Inside the Magic will update you as we get information.
