Credit: DisneyAhead of the 50th anniversary celebrations at Walt Disney World Resort, Disney has officially announced that Monorail transportation to and from EPCOT is going to return this weekend.
Per an update from Disney via reporter Scott Gustin, daily Monorail service to and from EPCOT will begin on Sunday, July 18. The Monorail will begin running each day one hour before Park opening and end one hour after Park closing. It was also reported that bus service to and from EPCOT will end on July 25 for both Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa and Disney’s Contemporary Resort, and mid-August for Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort.
When using the Monorail to get to EPCOT, the Monorail will drop you off right near the entrance of the theme park. This is a very convenient transportation method and it’s clear that many Guests are thrilled that the EPCOT Monorail service is returning to Disney World after being suspended for quite some time.
At the time of this article’s publication, the official Walt Disney World Resort website has not yet been updated to reflect the date when the EPCOT Monorail line will resume service. We will share more updates as Disney releases more official information.
The Monorail is just one of the many transportation options at Disney World. Disney Resort hotel Guests can utilize complimentary transportation all across Disney property, including the Monorail (which typically services Magic Kingdom and EPCOT), ferry boats and other watercraft, buses, and Disney Skyliner. Depending on the Resort you’re staying at, you could opt to take the Disney Skyliner to parks like Disney’s Hollywood Studios or watercraft to Magic Kingdom. You can even use transportation like the Monorail to go Resort hopping.
