If you have been to Disneyland Resort since Disneyland Park and Disney California Adventure Park reopened on April 30, and you parked on Disneyland property, you are probably very aware of the longest walk at Disney right now.

The trams are not currently running from the Mickey & Friends and Pixar Pals parking structures to the drop-off area at the Disneyland Esplanade. So, any Guests who park at the parking structures need to walk all the way to the front gates. It has been this way since A Touch of Disney began its limited-time run in March of this year, and from what we know so far, the trams aren’t coming back anytime soon. Disney has not yet announced when they will bring back the trams for Guest transportation to and from the parking structures.

After a long day, the walk from the theme park gates to the parking structures can feel like the longest walk ever, especially if you and your family are exhausted.

There is, however, an alternative now that still allows you to park on Disney property but avoid that long walk. As of June 18, the Toy Story parking lot is officially reopened. Now, Guests have another place they can park on Disneyland Resort property when visiting the theme parks. And if you have parked at the Toy Story lot before, you know it is incredibly convenient.

First, just driving to the Toy Story lot is much easier than driving to the Mickey & Friends and Pixar Pals parking. This parking lot is not a parking structure — it is a flat lot located at the corner of Harbor Boulevard and Katella Avenue right near the Anaheim Convention Center. And unlike the Disneyland parking structures, this parking lot is rarely backed up with as long of a line of cars waiting to pay and park.

Second, Disney is bringing back transportation to and from the Toy Story lot as the parking lot reopens. While it is, of course, an option to walk from this Disneyland parking lot to the Harbor Boulevard entrance of the Disneyland Resort, it is highly convenient to be able to take a bus to and from the parking lot and the Disneyland Resort gates. You also have to go through security before you get on a Disney bus, so that means you can completely avoid the security line once you are dropped off at the Disneyland Esplanade.

So, if you want to avoid possibly the longest walk at Disney right now and have transportation to and from parking and the theme parks, we recommend parking on Disneyland property at the Toy Story lot off Harbor Boulevard. Parking rates and information can be found here.
