Disneyland Resort fans, Legacy Passholders, and upcoming Guests, heads up! We now have more information regarding parking at the Disneyland Resort on the reopening day of the theme parks, Disneyland Park and Disney California Adventure Park.
If you are planning to visit Disneyland Resort on April 30 or the weekend following, here’s what you need to know about parking.

Before Disney had shared exactly when parking will be opening on reopening day specifically, based on recent reports, it appeared that the Mickey & Friends and Pixar Pals parking at the Disneyland Resort will be opening much earlier than normal on April 30 and the days following.
Disneyland Park has been closed for over a year, and the reopening is certainly historic, so there are plenty of fans who will surely want to get to the park gates as early as possible so they can enter the Happiest Place on Earth as soon as they are allowed in.
There are also Guests who want to be on property when they try to reserve a boarding group for Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance — and, as we know, back in early 2020 when Rise of the Resistance debuted, parking opened hours before the parks opened and Guests lined up at the gates to get into the parks as early as possible. Although, as we know now, you will no longer need to be physically in the park to make a boarding group reservation. Still, fans likely want to be there early.
Last July, parking for the reopening day of the Downtown Disney District was quite hectic, so it makes sense for Disney to want to reopen the parking structures a lot earlier on April 30.
Note that the official Disneyland webpage for theme park reopening information does not mention how early parking will open on opening day. The Experience Updates webpage actually doesn’t make a specific note of the parking structure hours at all. But, given past precedent, it stands to reason that Guests will want (and, possibly, need) additional time to get from the parking structure to the front gates of the theme parks, especially on the historic day of Disneyland reopening.
When something big is happening at Disneyland, fans want to be there as early as possible, and often Disney recognizes that!
Disneyland theme park reporter Gothic Rosie first broke the Disneyland parking news on Instagram. She shared that the Mickey & Friends and Pixar Pals parking structure will open at 6 a.m. on April 30, May 1, and May 2 — the first Friday, Saturday, and Sunday when Disneyland Park and Disney California Adventure Park will be open to the public.
After that, starting May 3, the parking structures will open 30 minutes prior to the theme park opening. So, if the parks open at 9 a.m., you can expect the parking structures to open at 8:30 a.m. We’ll update our website if anything changes.
Just like with A Touch of Disney, trams will not be running from the parking structure to the theme park gates. Those who park at Mickey & Friends and Pixar Pals will go through temperature check and security at the parking structure and then use the tram route to walk to the parks.
As a reminder, the Toy Story lot is currently an Orange County vaccination site and therefore Guests are unable to park there. The Simba parking lot adjacent to Downtown Disney is currently open, as well, although an hourly rate will be charged for parking at the Simba lot once the theme parks reopen.

Additionally, since this article was originally published, Disney also confirmed the news:
When you arrive at the toll booths for Mickey & Friends or Pixar Pals parking structures, you will be asked if you have tickets and a theme park reservation. Because you will already have a theme park reservation, there’s no need to rush or get here early. But do allow time for a leisurely stroll along the pedestrian bridge from the parking structures, as the tram will not be operating. For your convenience, stroller, wheelchair and ECV rentals will be available at the parking structures.
To help us with physical distancing requirements, we don’t encourage early arrivals, and line ups will not be allowed prior to 6 a.m. on opening weekend, when the parking structures and security screenings will open. Note that state guidelines prohibit eating or drinking while waiting in line, so please finish your coffee in the car first.
As a reminder, there is a fee to park your car on Disneyland Resort property. The Disneyland Resort theme parks are also only allowing California residents with valid tickets and park reservations to enter. More information on Disneyland Resort operations can be found on the official website here. We will update our website with the latest information on Disneyland operations as it is officially released.
