Credit: DisneyOn September 23, 2021, one of Walt Disney World Resort’s most popular rides, Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance, went through a huge change that was supposed to make it easier for Guests to experience — no more do Disney’s Hollywood Studios visitors have to get in a virtual queue and hope they win the boarding group “lottery”.

Instead, a traditional standby queue is being used for the Star Wars-themed ride. However, ever since the standby queue debuted last week, it seems that Rise of the Resistance is having even more issues than usual.
It experienced two breakdowns on the first day the standby queue was available, for example, and broke down again yesterday after Guests waited in line for two hours.

Now, Rise of the Resistance once again experienced unexpected downtime this morning. WDW Stats on Twitter confirmed the closure at 10:53 a.m. EST:
Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance has been temporarily interrupted. On average, an interruption takes 40 minutes.
It is worth noting that the ride reopened after 46 minutes.

Fans, however, were frustrated by the closure, with some taking to social media to share their thoughts. One Disney World Guest wrote:
I’ve tried to ride 2 rides at Disney world Hollywood Studios and both have experienced technical difficulties, like wtf. Stuck in line at Rise of the Resistance right now.

It is important to remember that Cast Members at all four Disney World theme parks — Magic Kingdom, EPCOT, Disney’s Animal Kingdom, and Disney’s Hollywood Studios — do their best to keep all rides and attractions operational all day, every day. Sometimes, however, unexpected downtime is inevitable due to mechanical problems and general maintenance.
