Throughout The Mandalorian Season 2, actress Gina Carano garnered all sorts of online drama due to her controversial Tweets and divisive political opinions. The hashtag #FireGinaCarano trended off-and-on for months on social media and, eventually, Lucasfilm and The Walt Disney Company did, in fact, let Gina go.

Following Gina Carano’s firing, it was confirmed that New Republic Marshal Cara Dune won’t be recast within the Star Wars universe. As a result, merchandise featuring the Star Wars character has become incredibly scarce.
Since current reports indicate that a live-action version of Star Wars Rebels‘ pilot Hera Syndulla could take Dune’s place in Mandalorian spinoff, Rangers of the New Republic, now is the time for Dune and Carano fans to buy memorabilia while they still can.
Hasbro has already canceled production of the Star Wars The Black Series Cara Dune action figure and Funko has stopped manufacturing the Cara Dune Funko POP!

Oddly enough, one of the few places Cara Dune collectibles and toys are still available is shopDisney.com. One could argue that this is proving the popularity of the Star Wars character (or the actress herself, in some circles) since Disney is still willing to capitalize off of someone they made the decision to fire.
It seems likely that the Mandalorian figure set featuring the character will be pulled soon — almost certainly, in all likelihood, ahead of The Mandalorian Season 3.
If a similar set is made again, Cara Dune could potentially be replaced with another popular character from The Mandalorian universe, such as Boba Fett, who is played by Temuera Morrison, or Fennec Shand, portrayed by Disney Legend Ming-Na Wen.

While these figurines are not posable like Hasbro’s Star Wars The Black Series and Star Wars Vintage Collection figurines, this set includes one of the few pieces of Cara Dune merchandise that is seemingly still being made.

What do you think about the fact that shopDisney hasn’t removed Cara Dune, even though she will no longer be in the Star Wars galaxy?Â
