This summer (originally slated for April 15), Tokyo Disney Resort will finally open the gates to its New Fantasyland expansion. Tokyo Disneyland opened April 15, 1983, becoming the first Disney park to open outside of the United States.
The new land will include lots of unique Disney touches, but we’re most excited about the Happy Ride with Baymax attraction inspired by Big Hero 6 and The Enchanted Tale with Beauty and the Beast attraction.
Disney Imagineers constructed the new area to be reminiscent of Belle’s village from Walt Disney Studios 1991 Beauty and the Beast. The new area will include La Taverne de Gaston restaurant, as well as shops and even Maurice’s cottage. And like inside the New Fantasyland expansion at Walt Disney World, the land will also boast Gaston’s fountain.
But the focal point of the New Fantasyland expansion is the gorgeous new Beauty and the Beast castle that stands inside the new land. The will be the centerpiece of the new area towering 98 feet above the surrounding area.
Inside the , guests can step into the world of and the Beast as it houses the new Enchanted Tale with Beauty and the Beast attraction, as well as a huge indoor theater. Just look at some of the details Imagineers used on the new structure. The castle is breathtaking.
You’ve seen Cinderella Castle at Magic Kingdom in Walt Disney World and Sleeping Beauty Castle at Disneyland in California, but the Beauty and the Beast castle is just as beautiful (if not more so!).
Disney fans of the Tokyo Disney Resort have been awaiting the unveiling of the New Fantasyland expansion for a couple of years now, and the wait is almost over as the new land will begin to welcome Guests in mid-April of this year. We think the beautiful new castle looks very much like the one in the animated film, and we can’t wait to visit Belle’s village and step into her world.
