There’s been a lot of news lately about expansions at Disney Parks–at home and abroad. Both Disneyland and Walt Disney World have felt the Force lately as Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge opened on May 31 and August 29, respectively.

But today we learned that Tokyo Disneyland‘s new Fantasyland expansion and additions to Tomorrowland and Toontown will open to Guests on April 15, 2020.

The new expansion includes an area featuring the new Enchanted Tale of Beauty and the Beast attraction, as well as Maurice’s Cottage and the indoor Fantasyland Forest Theatre.

Tokyo Disneyland’s new Fantasyland expansion will have a heavy Belle and Beast presence. Guests will be able to walk into Belle’s village. The village will feature Maurice’s cottage where he lives and dreams up his newest inventions. Gaston’s fountain will also be in the village, and Beauty and the Beast Castle will sit regally high above the village and the forest.

Inside the castle, Guests can experience the Enchanted Tale of Beauty and the Beast attraction. The experience features a musical adventure in ride vehicles that move and dance in rhythm with melodies we remember from the animated feature film.

As Guests venture deeper into the forest, they will come upon Fantasyland Forest Theatre. It’s the first-ever full-scale indoor theater at Tokyo Disneyland.

We’re really intrigued by Tomorrowland’s new “Big Hero 6”-inspired attraction called The Happy Ride with Baymax. In this experience, Guests get their own personal healthcare companion and take off on an exciting ride that swings them around. How thrilling! Tomorrowland will also feature The Big Pop, a brand-new outer space-themed shop brimming with–you guessed it–popcorn!

Part of the expansion encompasses Toontown where, beginning in April, Guests will be afforded the opportunity to meet Minnie Mouse in person for the very first time at Minnie’s Style Studio.

There’s so much excitement in the works at Tokyo Disneyland! Have you ever been to the Tokyo park? Let us know about your experience there in the comments section below!
