Credit: DisneyTokyo Disney Resort has officially revealed a reopening date! Tokyo Disneyland and Tokyo DisneySea will reopen on July 1.
Below is the official reopening announcement as it is written on the Tokyo Disney website:
This is to share the decision that both Tokyo Disneyland and Tokyo DisneySea will reopen on July 1, 2020.
Additionally, the opening date for the Tokyo Disneyland major expansion area will be determined once the situation can be gauged after reopening both parks.
Tokyo Disney Resort began a phased reopening with the reopening of their shopping and dining district, Ikspiari, on June 1. Read more here.
The Tokyo Disney Resort website states that new ticket sales will begin at midnight local time on June 25, 2020. New tickets will have fixed dates associated with them. The resort will also employ a reservation system (for a better idea of how this can look, read our coverage of the Shanghai Disneyland reservation system, the Hong Kong Disneyland reservation system, and the Walt Disney World Resort reservation system).
As far as the health and safety regulations that will be in place, Guests must wear face masks and their temperatures will be checked before entering the theme parks.
As of today, we officially have a reopening date for every Disney Park. We continue to await more information pertaining to the reopening of Tokyo Disneyland and Tokyo DisneySea.

- Shanghai Disneyland: Reopened May 11, 2020
- Hong Kong Disneyland: Reopened June 18, 2020
- Walt Disney World: Magic Kingdom and Disney’s Animal Kingdom reopening July 11, 2020; EPCOT and Disney’s Hollywood Studios reopening July 15
- Disneyland Paris: Disneyland park and Walt Disney Studios park reopening July 15, 2020.
- Disneyland Resort: Disneyland and Disney California Adventure plan to reopen July 17, 2020.
