After almost two hours of waiting, Guests are now able to get into the Walt Disney World reservation system for when the parks reopen!
As a reminder, according to Walt Disney World: “Beginning June 22, 2020, Disney Resort and other select hotel Guests with valid theme park admission can make reservations. Beginning June 26, 2020, Annual Passholders without a Resort stay can make reservations. Beginning June 28, 2020, existing ticket holders can make reservations.”
One of our Inside the Magic team members logged on at 7am EST and patiently waited through several different screens. The first showed the Cinderella Castle (repainted pink to mimic the construction happening at Magic Kingdom).
The second page loaded as an “in orbit”, which had a timer counting down from approximately 8 minutes. This countdown was also a bit glitchy as our team member said the clock would pause periodically and sometimes even jump back up a few seconds, making the countdown actually longer than the 8 minutes that was initially shown.
Finally, once the timer finished counting down, our Inside the Magic team member finally got to the calendar!
The system still looks to be glitching though — Initially, it looked as though Disney was already booked for the entire month of July as our team member received this error message before being booted back to the July calendar, showing all grey for every date in July.
But once he went back and clicked on Disney Resort Guests option, he was then able to see available dates for July 2020. Though, even when our team member did that, he was still having trouble actually making a reservation.
Our other team member who is part of the same family reservation as the above screenshots was able to get into the system as they were shown this page:
And finally after hours of trying, our Inside the Magic team members were able to confirm park reservations!
