This just goes to prove my theory: Universal Orlando doesn’t give a single crap about it’s heritage. It’s celebrating something that isn’t theirs, that replaced a GOOD ride, and the new ride isn’t even good. It’s not even half the length of JAWS nor half as good as the plot. When will Voldemort learn to die?! Harry Potter is like Frozen and Skrillex, in two years no one will care. And furthermore, as other rides have shown, 3D simulator rides are a FAILURE OF THE AMUSEMENT PARK INDUSTRY!
Harry Potter is more than a 2-year forgettable entity. Its been ridiculously popular since its very first release in the late 90’s. This is a way to keep the magic alive for many more generations. Stars wars remains popular after all of these years by making more movies. Harry Potter will live in text and through the excitement this “failure of the amusement park industry” brings millions of true fans. Get over yourself and stop hating on something you know nothing about!
This is what I mean. People go to lengths to forget what even got them there in the first place. If you ask a random stranger in the park what Kongfrontation is, they will most likely say no. And they’ve run out of stuff to make about it, unless they take out E.T also, and at that point, I see a lot of people vowing to never return. Out of things that replaced original attractions, the only good one I’ve seen, is Mummy. And don’t get so cocky with the “what you know nothing about.” I’ve been on it. And it was terrible. Let’s see what else… Star Wars deserves it, shut your face with that “you know nothing”, OH YEAH, that’s right, I went to every employee there I could find and asked: Would you rather stay here, or be a skipper at JAWS. Over 90% said go back to JAWS. These are the ones getting paid! So now what? You gonna tell me that “I know nothing ?!” Now please stop endorsing the milking. This is why I’m glad this stuff doesn’t happen on the west coast. Excuse me, while I mourn Maelstrom, the Studio Backlot Tour, Kongfrontation, and most importantly JAWS.
Have you been living under a rock for the last 18 years? HP was, is and will continue to be a global phenomenon. Your assertion that nobody will care in a couple of years is just ridiculous. As for Universal’s “heritage”, do a little reading and you’ll find the majority of rides, shows, etc. aren’t a Universal Studio’s owned franchise or property and they have agreements in place with the owners of the material that makes both plenty of money. Even the hotels are aren’t Universal properties. As for the 3D rides, well done ones work, badly done ones don’t. HP’s The Forbidden Journey is an amazingly well done one and that you would even try to compare it to Jaws shows you don’t knwo what you’re talking about. I don’t know why you’re so against Harry Potter, but I suggest you get over it or avoid another trip to US and IoA. It’s here to stay…especially since a new movie is coming out in the same wizarding universe.
Alright, this will be my last. comment on this thread. So please don’t reply. I’ll feel compeled to answer.
Any way. Before I begin, I’m halfway over Jaws. I’m starting to like the new ride, but don’t take it too far. Also 3 things before I leave:
1. I don’t know why, but not that many males like HP. I’m one of the 50%, so cut some slack please.
2. What I mean when I say that it shouldn’t be in the park cause its from WB, I just don’t like the rides that are from other studios.
3. Jaws is real in terms of not being in a building. DON’T SAY BOATHOUSE!! IOA HP is a mix of 3D AND non3D. US is just 3D. That’s what I meant. Anyway, I’ve gotta go slay the werewolf of Goblin Mountain! (Bonus points if you get the reference!)
But in all seriousness, please don’t reply. I’m trying not to do that kinda crap.
Thanks for not killing me more than 3 times, like redditors,
James.
Be careful when booking through Universal. They will promise you a lot of stuff but when you complain they will say “we are a third party company.” and they will just feed you excuses. For example if they book your flight they don’t tell you that they put in a request for seats. Seats are not guaranteed. They will tell you it is the airlines responsibility to give you seats. They will also tell you that if you want to sit together you have to pay extra to pick your seats. In my case I had no seats on my return flight and had to pay for seats in business class to guarantee my family could get on that flight.
When this company makes a mistake they will do nothing to compensate you for their mistake. I had other problems with my vacation package (car service, etc) but it is too long to write. Buyer beware. I will never book through this company ever again.
