Universal Studios Great Britain is no longer a pipedream—it’s really happening. Set to open in 2031, the resort will host new attractions and themed lands. While nothing has been confirmed, rumors point towards British staples like James Bond and Paddington, as well as major blockbuster franchises such as Harry Potter, Back to the Future, and Jurassic World.
Of course, Jurassic World is among the most likely candidates, seeing as it already has attractions at every other Universal Studios destination (Hollywood, Orlando, Japan, Singapore, and Beijing). The Jurassic film series alone has grossed over $6 billion worldwide to date, with the seventh film Jurassic World Rebirth (2025) hitting theaters on July 2.

Jurassic World Vs. The Land Before Time?
So, attractions like Jurassic Park: The Ride (one of many names for the dino-filled log flume) and VelociCoaster could soon be cloned for U.K. audiences (see what we did there?). However, at this point, anything is possible, and there’s also every chance that Universal will want to distinguish its Great Britain-based resort from all its other destinations.
As such, Universal Studios GB may be prepared to risk not utilizing all the major IPs in its vault. As unlikely as it seems, the resort may decide on another dino land instead of Jurassic World. Enter The Land Before Time. The 1988 animated film directed by Don Bluth and also part of Universal’s extensive catalog is a beloved classic, yet it has zero theme park presence.

Universal Studios Great Britain Could Usher The Land Before Time Back Into the Spotlight
Could Littlefoot, Cera, Ducky, Petrie, Spike, and Sharptooth find their way into Universal Studios? It would certainly help the U.K. resort forge its own identity. With that said, as iconic as The Land Before Time is, it still doesn’t hold a candle to Jurassic World in terms of popularity and revenue, so the odds are definitely stacked in the blockbuster IP’s favor.
Still, the thought of seeing a “Sharptooth Coaster” ripping through a volcanic wasteland or the majestic Great Valley serving as the themed area’s centerpiece fills us with buckets of nostalgia. At this point, though, we’d even settle for some merch—perhaps the inevitable Jurassic World-themed area will be kind enough to have a Land Before Time outlet.
You know, from one fellow dinosaur franchise to another.
