Credit: DisneyWalt Disney World has been working hard on trying to get the new EPCOT fireworks show ready for Guests visiting the Most Magical Place on Earth — HarmonioUS.

HarmonioUS
HarmonioUS is an upcoming nighttime spectacular that will include pyrotechnics, projections, fountains, lasers, and more. In case you missed it, at D23 Expo in 2019, Bob Chapek spoke about HarmonioUS and stated it would be the “largest nighttime spectacular in Disney history.”
Walt Disney Imagineering Executive Producer Michael Hundgen also spoke out on the subject, saying, “Think of it as the latest toolkit with the latest and greatest pyro, projections, fountains, and lasers. We’re bringing it to that show. It’s sort of all the bells and whistles.”
Though at this time we do not have an opening date on when exactly Guests will finally see this highly anticipated show, some have been speculating it will debut on October 1, 2021 — EPCOT’s birthday and the start of Disney World’s 50th anniversary celebrations. But, signs may be pointing to a closer opening date than October.

Testing Done on HarmonioUS
Disney World announced that testing on select fireworks would occur over the last few months, so we did expect them to continue shooting off fireworks in preparation for the upcoming show. Back in September, EPCOT began testing on HarmonioUS including on the barges that sit on World Showcase Lagoon.
And, in December, Imagineers were spotted around the barges as they were testing them once again. Now, the theme park has taken things to the next level as Guests spotted the testing of actual fireworks over EPCOT.
As seen in the video posted to Instagram from Nick and Katie, fireworks were spotted at the theme park after hours last night.
And Disney fan Jennifer C., also posted a video to Instagram showing the fireworks being tested, writing “Look what I see! Epcot Harmonious fireworks testing from my balcony.
Twitter user Carrie took to the social media platform to share a video she took of the testing being done after hours at the theme park:

Please keep in mind, at this time Disney has not made an announcement on when fireworks shows will be returning to the theme parks, but it looks like we may be getting closer as Disney continues to test fireworks at EPCOT. Disney World’s 50th Anniversary

With HarmonioUS inching closer to finally debuting, the nighttime spectacular could be operating in time for the big 50th anniversary celebration, which will begin on October 1, 2021 and run for 18 months!
Disney Parks Blog wrote:
Beginning Oct. 1, Walt Disney World Resort will throw “The World’s Most Magical Celebration” in honor of our 50th anniversary, bringing new experiences to our four theme parks and beyond. This milestone is such a big deal, we’ve even coined a new word – “EARidescence” – to describe what you’ll see when you visit. Our Disney teams are creating all sorts of new decorations that will shimmer and sparkle all day and into the night.
As part of the celebration, Cinderella Castle at Magic Kingdom Park will add to its royal makeover from last year. As you can see in this new artist rendering, the castle will feature golden bunting and a 50th anniversary crest as part of its festive new look.
The castle will add even more magic at night, joined by icons at each of the other three theme parks as they transform into Beacons of Magic.
