Disney Parks already made it very clear: 2020 will be a year of park refurbishments. That means a lot of our favorite attractions will be closed down.
If you are planning a trip to Walt Disney World Resort for 2020, we at Inside the Magic want you to plan accordingly and have proper expectations for your experience. So here is the Walt Disney World rides you can expect to be shut down at some point in the first seven months of 2020 (January 1, 2020 – August 1, 2020).
Magic Kingdom Attractions Closed for Refurbishment

Walt Disney World Railroad – Main Street, U.S.A., Frontierland, & Fantasyland Stations

- Closes January 5, 2020
- Remains closed through August 1, 2020.
Splash Mountain

- Closes: January 6, 2020.
- Reopens: February 28, 2020.
Big Thunder Mountain Railroad

- Closes: May 4, 2020.
- Reopens: May 21, 2020.
Swiss Family Treehouse

- Closes: April 27, 2020.
- Reopens: May 4, 2020.
EPCOT Attractions Closed for Refurbishment

Test Track

- Closes: January 13, 2020.
- Reopens: February 27, 2020.
Spaceship Earth

- Closed: May 26, 2020
- Opens: TBD
Animal Kingdom Attractions Closed for Refurbishment

Kali River Rapids

- Closes January 6, 2020.
- Reopens: March 21, 2020.
Hollywood Studios Attractions Closed for Refurbishment
MuppetVision 3D

- Closes: January 26, 2020
- Reopens: February 6, 2020
Disney’s Typhoon Lagoon Water Park will be closed between January 13, 2020, and March 28, 2020.
Disney’s Blizzard Beach Water Park will be closed before January 1, 2020 and will reopen January 13, 2020.
