When Be Our Guest restaurant debuted at Walt DisneyWorld Resort’s Magic Kingdom Park on December 6, 2012, Guests had to book tables months in advance.
Even now, nine years later, the dining establishment — which is located near Gaston’s Tavern in the Fantasyland expansion — can be difficult to get into.
As part of Walt Disney World Resort’s phased reopening process, which began in July 2020 following the property’s pandemic-related closure, Be Our Guest is currently serving a limited prix fixe menu. The catch? It still costs $62 per person for adults!
The current dining experience is described by Disney as:
Table-service lunch and dinner includes a prix fixe, 3-course menu featuring French-inspired dishes that are très délicieux.
Start your meal with your choice of a sumptuous appetizer like French onion soup, lobster bisque or a selection of assorted meats and artisanal cheeses. For your main course, select from a medley of mouthwatering entrées—including filet mignon, tortellini and other savory delights. Afterwards, save some room for our trio of delectable desserts.
During a recent visit to Walt Disney World Resort, I dined at Be Our Guest, and my party was pleasantly surprised by the experience in spite of the fact that the dining establishment has recently received some backlash for food presentation.
As a matter of fact, we ordered the Assorted Meats and Artisanal Cheese Selection that has been garnering complaints [below]. While we did not find that the presentation has significantly improved since Guests first started posting on social media, the members of our party who tried the tray found the food itself to be quite good.
Another appetizer, the Mixed Field Greens salad [below], featuring hazelnut brittle and seasonal fruit, was also ordered by several members of our dining party.
We also tried several of the entrees that are currently being offered at Be Our Guest. Both the Center-cut Filet Mignon with Robuchon Yukon potatoes, seasonal vegetables, and cipollini marmalade and the Pan-seared Sea Scallops with seasonal risotto were delicious.
You can see portion sizes in the photos both above and below.
The highlights of the meal, however, were the dessert trio [below] starring a white chocolate Chip cup filled with the “grey stuff” (it’s delicious!), and special appearances by Beast himself.
The character walked through the dining room on multiple occasions during our meal, making the rounds every few minutes. Although Guests cannot currently interact with Beast, he does come quite close to certain tables, allowing for fun photo ops!
Overall, the limited menu at Be Our Guest is still high quality and the experience of dining in Beast’s Castle is unparalleled. Guests are also allowed to wander through the other rooms of the castle when they are finished dining to take photos and soak-up the atmosphere.
If you are looking for a special meal at Walt Disney World Resort during the 50th anniversary celebration, this is the perfect choice.
