This is a pretty big change as when Walt Disney World reopened last July, due to the ongoing pandemic, Disney was only seating one party per Skyliner gondola. This was enforced in order to keep Guests safe while traveling throughout Disney property.
Therefore, Guests were used to getting a private gondola ride as they traveled throughout Disney World property. With this being said, we wanted to know how Disney Guests feel about Walt Disney World now loading multiple parties per gondola.
And it seems as though several fans are not happy…
Inside the Magic Facebook follower, Amy S., says she has mixed feelings regarding the news:
It will make it go faster but we loved having the gondola ride to ourselves in February. It was nice for our family of 5
And Steve D. commented expressing that he, too, enjoyed having the private gondola:
I really enjoyed having that private Gondola ride. I’m glad I got to experience it that way!
Another Facebook follower, Anthony J., echoed what others were saying, also saying he enjoyed the privacy:
Pass, I liked having it to just my party
And Dawn W. commented on our post something similar to a majority of our other followers:
Not thrilled about this

Christina W. explained whether we were going through a pandemic or not, she does not like this idea:
Yeah I would prefer they don’t do this ever, Covid or no Covid. Way too close quarters to be shoved in there with strangers
Facebook follower Ashton W. tried to make light of the situation, however, it is clear they do not want to share a gondola with others– especially in the Florida heat:
Ewww now I’m never taking it! How awkward haha not because of covid I just don’t want to stare directly at other people that close in a hot box for that long ?
Another Inside the Magic follower, Cyndi D. said after this change, they may not ride the Skyliner anymore:
I’d make the decision not to ride it.
And Haley L. expressed the loading process at the Skyliner is one thing she did not want to see go back to normal:
Ughhhhhhhh the one thing I didn’t want to go back. I loved having my own gondola

On the other hand, Inside the Magic reader, Prism, commented on our article saying they like seeing this news as it is another step towards “normalcy”:
I love seeing the reports for all the positive news. I am getting the itch so badly to come back! Keep those steps toward normalcy coming.
And Facebook follower, Simon B., also shared their excitement for this change, writing:
finally, thank you
Lastly, ITM fan Kevin M. expressed:
getting more normal by the day! Love it

On one hand, it is obvious that Guests will miss having an entire Skyliner gondola to themselves but on the other hand, it’s safe to say that with multiple parties loading in one gondola, the lines will certainly move quickly and this is another step towards “normalcy”, which some are happy about.
It is important to keep in mind that the Skyliner gondolas can fit up to 10 Guests and do have openings so fresh air circulates. Inside the Magic will continue to update you as we get information regarding the Disney Skyliner and other changes happening at Walt Disney World.
The Disney Skyliner allows Guests staying at Disney’s Art of Animation, Disney’s Pop Century, Disney’s Caribbean Beach, or Disney’s Riviera Resort to travel from their resort to two Disney theme parks — EPCOT or Disney’s Hollywood Studios — all while taking in beautiful views of Disney landscape.
The new Skyliner transposition is in constant motion, which means Guests arrive at their destination within minutes! Relax along the way, take in the views, and you will be there before you know it.
