Scarlett Johansson took over the Studio 8H stage last weekend as she hosted Saturday Night Live for the sixth time!

She opened up her monologue joking about her engagement to Colin Jost. “What are they going to do? Fire my fiance?” Johansson said. “Oh no, what are we going to do without his paycheck?”

The monologue quickly changed gears, which is when Aidy Bryant came out on stage as Johansson’s childhood Elf on the Shelf. As they discuss how good Ms. Johansson has been this year, suddenly Bryant’s arm starts to dissolve into ash, just like a Thanos snap.

It doesn’t take long before Johansson references the MCU villain and then before we know it, cast member after cast member starts to dissolve into dust. “Oh my god, am I going to have to save everyone? I left my Black Widow costume in the car,” Johansson joked.

Beck Bennet comes running onto the stage pleading to Johansson, “Why is this happening?” in which Johansson said it must be Thanos.

“Well, I think Thanos may have somehow returned and found the Infinity Stones,” Johansson said.

“No, I mean this monologue. It doesn’t seem super topical?” Bennett replied. “Was this like, a back-up monologue from the last time you hosted?” Meanwhile, he quickly got cut off as he, too, turned to dust.

Scarlett Johansson was then joined by Saturday Night Live cast member Michael Che, in which she was very relieved he was still here. Within seconds, Colin Jost also ran on stage but her reaction was a bit different when she saw him. “Oh, I thought you’d be more relieved to see me,” Jost said.

“I am, no, it’s great,” Johansson said. “I’m sorry I’m just a little focused on Thanos right now.”

It didn’t take long before Kenan Thompson ran on stage dressed as Nick Fury, where he quickly realized it wasn’t Thanos doing this — It was someone else who got a hold of the infinity gauntlet.

Of course, it is no surprise to Saturday Night Live fans when it was revealed that Pete Davidson bought the actual infinity gauntlet online.

Eventually, Davidson snapped the cast back into reality and Johansson was joined on stage by the entire cast, including her fiance.

“I just want to say that this place means so much to me,” Johansson said with a glow on her face. “I’ve made so many friends here, and I met the love of my life here.” Johansson and Jolt then shared an adorable kiss as the cast and audience cheered.
