To kick off today’s Destination D event itinerary, Bob Chapek, Chairman of Parks, Experiences and Consumer Products, took the stage to give a quick update of the many changes happening to the Walt Disney World resort over the next few years. As part of this presentation, came announcements of some of the exciting changes coming to Walt Disney World’s Epcot.

Announced today, nights at Epcot are going to get more exciting, as Chapek revealed that a nighttime fireworks show will premiere at the park in 2020 in an all-new transformative spectacular. The show will celebrate how Disney music inspires guests from around the world and will feature massive floating set pieces, custom-built LED panels, choreographed moving fountains, lights, pyrotechnics, and lasers.

Here are some images from a promotional video of the new show.

The current IllumiNations: Reflections of Earth show will be coming to an end at the beginning of 2019. In the time between IllumiNations: Reflections of Earth and the premiere of the new show in 2020, a temporary show will take its place. This temporary show, titled “Epcot Forever,” will be a celebration of Epcot, set to classic Epcot tunes. The show will begin with a spark of imagination, which will quickly grow into a spectacle of fireworks, music, lighting, lasers and choreographed special-effect kites.

Officially announced today, the Ratatouille-themed attraction coming to the France Pavilion in Epcot’s World Showcase will be named Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure. No new information came of the attraction from the event. As of current, Disney has only announced that this attraction will be similar to Ratatouille: The Adventure found at Disneyland Paris.

More news from today’s event of the France Pavilion in Epcot’s World Showcase was the announcement of a brand-new “Beauty and the Beast” sing-along show created by Don Hahn, the official producer of the animated and live-action “Beauty and the Beast” films.

A smaller update that came out of Chapek’s long list of announcements this morning included the news of an updated film coming to the beloved O Canada! the 360-degree show found in the Canada Pavilion of Epcot’s World Showcase. Chapek stated that they’re currently filming the new video right now in Canada.
