While Disney Princesses and Mickey and Friends usually get the most spotlight, nothing compares to a good Disney Villain. Not only do they have the best songs, but their designs are iconic and, despite their evil intentions, are the most fun to watch.
While there is lots of Disney villain merchandise to be bought online and at Disney Parks, LEGO has never really ventured into the more sinister side of Disney’s catalog of characters. That is, until now.

The upcoming Disney Villain Icons LEGO set is filled with fantastic details representing seven villains across multiple decades of Disney history.
Starting with the mini-figures, Disney’s Golden Era is represented by two of its earliest villains: Maleficent from Sleeping Beauty (1959) and the Evil Queen in her witch form from Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs (1937). The other two represent the Disney Renaissance: Gaston from Beauty and the Beast (1991) and Genie Jafar from Aladdin (1992). All four have great accessories, including Maleficient’s staff and Jafar’s lamp.

Each figure has a corresponding item that also serves as a home for each mini-figure. Gaston, Jafar, and Maleficent each have a book corresponding to their story, each with intricately detailed covers. Meanwhile, the evil Queen has her classic poisoned apple, complete with green, poisonous goo.
The most exciting part comes with the additional items representing even more villains, including a playing card with the Queen of Hearts from Alice in Wonderland (1951) on it, Captain Hook’s pocket watch from Peter Pan (1953), and a VHS tape of The Little Mermaid (1989). As an extra bonus, the top of the tape can be opened to reveal film featuring scenes from the original movie.

What’s most exciting about this set is that it doesn’t look too childish. In fact, this fully constructed set can easily be displayed on a bookshelf with other books or movies. This point is driven home even further with the featured tagline “Adults Welcome.”
The Disney Villain Icons LEGO set is $129.99 and can begin to be ordered on June 1, 2023.
