The 2020 holiday season at Walt Disney World was one we certainly won’t forget. With the current pandemic, Disney World had to make some changes and accommodations in order to bring the magic of the holidays to Guests at the theme parks.
We didn’t get to experience Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party, the famous snoap on Main Street U.S.A. or Hollywood Boulevard, or Dream Lights on Cinderella Castle. Still, Disney World did their very best to bring joy and happiness to everyone visiting the Disney Parks during the holidays.
With the holidays coming to an end, we wanted to put together a list of things you can still experience before they are officially over as well as look ahead to what’s next for the parks.

Experiences During the 2020 Holiday Season
You still have one more day to experience the holiday offerings at Walt Disney World as the season will conclude on December 30, 2020. Here is everything you can take advantage of before we wave goodbye!
Magic Kingdom
- Decorations — From garland and wreaths hung on Main Street U.S.A. and the Main Street Train Station to Christmas Tree displays on the Tomorrowland stage to the return of the seasonal Jingle Cruise in Adventureland, Guests can still take in the atmosphere of the holiday season.
- Holiday Cavalcades — There’s still time to catch the Dapper Dans, the Toy Soldiers, Mickey’s Holiday Cavalcade, and Goofy’s Candy Cavalcade before they come to an end this season. And don’t forget to see the Santa Claus Cavalcade before he heads back to the North Pole.
- Projections on Cinderella Castle along with Small Fireworks — Along with the projections on Cinderella Castle, Disney brought Guests a big surprise as they debuted small fireworks to go off along with the change of projections every 15 minutes.
- Holiday Treats — Guests can choose from several treats including the Twice Upon a Cupcake, Let it Snow Taco, An Orange Bird Christmas, Chip and Dale Christmas Churros, and a Pistachio Chai Tea Float.

EPCOT
- EPCOT International Festival of the Holidays — This experience will run one extra day compared to the other festivities, ending on December 31, 2020.
- Promenades — Be sure to catch the Mickey and Friends World Tour, Frozen Promenade, Princess Promenade, or the Santa Claus Promenade before they conclude on December 30!

Disney’s Animal Kingdom
- “Festive Flotillas” — Santa Claus, Timon and Rafiki, and The Discovery Island Drummers all make an appearance on riverboats around Disney’s Animal Kingdom so be sure to stop and wave hello before it’s too late!
- Holiday Decor — There are plenty of decorations located throughout the theme park including at the entrance, along the shops, and in DinoLand U.S.A.!
- Holly Jolly Treats — Guests can enjoy a White-Chocolate Peppermint Cream Cheese Mouse from the Satu’li Canteen, a Menagerie Cupcake from Flame Tree Barbecue, Pumpkin Ice Cream Sandwich at Dino-Bite Snacks, or a Santa Mickey Mousse that will be available at Creature Comforts.
Disney’s Hollywood Studios
- Santa Claus Promenade — You can catch the big man himself over at Disney’s Hollywood Studios for one more day before he and his elves head back to the North Pole.
- “For the First Time in Forever: A Frozen Sing-Along Celebration” — Though this attraction will still be running after the holidays, you only have one day left to see the added festive finale, featuring everyone’s favorite snowman, Olaf, and celebratory songs of the season.
- Minnie’s Holiday Dine — Though a seasonal offering, this is available a few extra days and will conclude on January 4, 2021.
- Holiday Food Items and Drinks — At this theme park, Disney will be offering these a few extra days for Guests to enjoy. These items will no longer be available starting January 5, 2021.
- Projections on Tower of Terror — The iconic Hollywood Tower Hotel on Sunset Boulevard twinkles with projection effects as it becomes the Hollywood Holiday Tower Hotel. Don’t miss it!

What’s Next?
With many of the holiday celebrations concluding tomorrow, December 30, what’s next for Disney World? Well, the parks have already confirmed that new offerings are coming to the theme parks in 2021 — including new character encounters throughout the Most Magical Place on Earth!
Additionally, over the last few months, we have seen Disney World making some strides with fireworks, including testing here and there, and the return of small fireworks at Magic Kingdom for the holidays. So with Disney taking these steps, it has us wondering — could Disney World bring back fireworks sooner than we expected? At this time, Disney has not made any official statements, but we will keep you posted on all the new information released.
