A Disneyland Resort guest recently shared a frustrating encounter with line-cutters during their trip, bringing attention to one of the biggest pet peeves among parkgoers. While their overall experience was magical—riding the Mad Tea Party twice at closing time and hugging Goofy and Daisy—one moment in particular left a bad taste in their mouth.

A Toad’s Wild Encounter with Line-Cutters
The guest recounted the incident, which occurred while waiting in line for Mr. Toad’s Wild Ride in Fantasyland. A teenage girl, estimated to be 14-16 years old, was standing ahead of them, blasting TikTok videos loudly—content the guest described as “kinda inappropriate.”
As the line moved closer to the ride entrance, the teen turned to the guest and announced that her friends would be coming through.
The guest, unwilling to allow the last-minute line-cutting, firmly declined, stating that her friends would need to go behind them instead. This led to an argument, during which the guest stood their ground, even offering the teen three options:
- Exit the line to wait for her friends outside.
- Ride alone.
- Go behind the guest’s party and reunite with her friends there.
The guest also warned that if she continued to argue, they would call a cast member (CM) to intervene.
Faced with no alternative, the teen reluctantly moved behind the guest’s group but made her displeasure known, sulking loudly and making passive-aggressive remarks for the remainder of the wait.
The guest, however, had no regrets, making it clear in their post:
“Oh well, Tinkerbell, you didn’t get to take advantage of us and cut your friends in.”

The Never-Ending Debate Over Line Etiquette
The issue of line-cutting and holding spots is a long-standing debate among Disneyland guests. While some believe allowing one or two people to join their group is harmless, many others see it as a frustrating breach of park etiquette—especially when those individuals skip significant portions of long queues.
Most Disney veterans agree that firm but polite confrontation is the best way to handle line-cutting. While some situations may be unavoidable—such as a child needing a restroom break—guests overwhelmingly discourage the “text me when you’re close, and I’ll hop in” strategy.
Disneyland has official policies against line-jumping or cutting, and cast members can intervene if they witness it happening or if guests report it. While leniency may be given for small children or restroom emergencies, holding spots for an entire group is generally not allowed.
Those caught cutting may be removed from the line or even asked to leave the park, though enforcement can vary depending on the situation and the cast members monitoring the attraction.

A Word to Future Parkgoers: Stand Your Ground
The guest concluded their experience with a message for fellow Disneyland visitors:
“People firmly but politely stand your ground to line cutters and people holding spots in lines!”
With crowds at Disneyland continuing to grow, long lines are inevitable—but cutting in front of others remains a major faux pas. As this guest proved, standing up to queue jumpers may not always be pleasant, but it helps maintain fairness for all.
