Thousands of guests found themselves stranded at Magic Kingdom Park on Tuesday, stuck in hours-long lines to return to their Walt Disney World Resort hotels, cars, or third-party shuttles. Though the Monorail often shuts down due to mechanical issues or inclement weather, this week’s issue was with the ferryboat that takes guests between the Transportation & Ticket Center (TTC) and Magic Kingdom Park.
Walt Disney World Resort offers the most onsite transportation options of any Disney theme park worldwide. The Monorail shuttles guests between EPCOT and the TTC, as well as Magic Kingdom, Disney’s Polynesian Villiage Resort, Disney’s Contemporary Resort, and Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa. The Disney Skyliner travels between Disney’s Hollywood Studios, EPCOT International Gateway, Disney’s Pop Century Resort, Disney’s Caribbean Beach Resort, Disney’s Art of Animation Resort, and Disney’s Riviera Resort.

More broadly, Disney busses travel between all Disney Resort hotels and Disney Springs, Disney’s Animal Kingdom, Disney’s Typhoon Lagoon, and Disney’s Blizzard Beach. They also transport Disney Resort hotel guests who don’t have another form of transportation to EPCOT, Disney’s Hollywood Studios, and Magic Kingdom Park. Guests looking for a more private ride can book a Minnie Van through Lyft!
Different forms of Disney Water Transportation serve Disney Springs, Disney Resort hotels, Disney’s Hollywood Studios, EPCOT, and Magic Kingdom Park. On Tuesday, it was the Magic Kingdom ferryboat that stopped serving guests.

“Ferry Boats are currently down at Magic Kingdom,” Redditor u/IAmDrewbacca reported. “Long lines at Monorail. Plan accordingly!”
This impacted guests traveling to the Transportation & Ticket Center. The TTC is the only place to access Magic Kingdom Park via car or third-party shuttle and offers Monorail transportation to EPCOT.
It’s unclear what temporarily shut down the Magic Kingdom ferryboat on Tuesday.
