A guest recently exposed an alleged nightmare aboard one of Disney Cruise Line’s ships in a viral video. Fact or fiction?
A trip aboard the Disney Cruise Line fleet is the ultimate way to elevate any Disney vacation for all Disneyland Resort and Walt Disney World Resort fans.
With themed dining locations inspired by Disney and Pixar movies, Marvel, and Star Wars; Broadway-style live musicals; unique themed events like Marvel Day at Sea, Pixar Day at Sea, or the festive Halloween on the High Seas and Very Merrytime; it’s easy to see why thousands of Disney fans set sail with Mickey Mouse, Minnie Mouse, and their friends aboard the Disney Wish, the Disney Dream, the Disney Fantasy, the Disney Magic, and the Disney Wonder.
Unfortunately, a guest recently lived an alleged nightmare aboard one of the fleet’s ships.
TikTok user @roberttolppi recently posted a video exposing an alleged malfunction aboard the Disney Wish in which the ship’s horn played the iconic tune of Disney’s 1940 hit movie Pinocchio, “When You Wish Upon a Star,” continuously, causing extreme distress to the guest.
In the video, an announcement apologized for the inconvenience and informed that the ship’s maintenance crew was working to resolve the issue, but it would take nearly an hour. The guest then tried to cover the loud horn with noise-canceling headphones, saying they were not blocking it.
“I just want to sleep,” said the guest, adding, “I think they called the Disney Wish because they bought it on wish.com.” A second announcement noted that the ship would dock shortly at “a nearby port for electrical maintenance” and that the following day’s itinerary would be canceled while engineers assessed the malfunction.

The distressing video has racked up over 8 million views and 1.3 million likes, shocking over 12 thousand viewers who have voiced their opinions in the comments. However, the viral video is a hoax by the skilled editor Robert Tolppi, who has gone viral on multiple occasions, convincing millions that a guest had broken into Pirates of the Caribbean at Disneyland Park and that a theme park was operating an extremely dangerous (and impossible) roller coaster.
While all Disney Cruise Line ships play signature tunes from beloved Disney movies, no boat has ever reported a malfunction similar to the one portrayed in Robert’s video. This confirms that, while entertaining, the video is a montage, and the alleged malfunction is fake.
Unfortunately, this is not the first time social media has stirred debate and confusion among Disney Cruise Line enthusiasts. A recently resurfaced video of the Disney Dream crashing into a dock in Nassau, Bahamas, revived the conversation surrounding the incident, which occurred in 2017. Fortunately, no injuries were reported in the years-old accident.
