For many Walt Disney World Resort Guests, Friday night — and even Friday during the day — officially kicks off the weekend at the Resort’s four theme parks.
Magic Kingdom, EPCOT, Disney’s Animal Kingdom, and Disney’s Hollywood Studios are almost always hopping on Fridays, especially in the evenings after Orlando locals get off work! Yesterday, however, Guests in all four Disney World Parks experienced a number of ride closures throughout the day, some of which were quite lengthy.
WDW Stats on Twitter confirmed all of the closures. The following rides were impacted:
- Prince Charming Regal Carrousel
- Test Track
- Splash Mountain
- Slinky Dog Dash
- Astro Orbiter
- Jungle Cruise
- Seven Dwarfs Mine Train
- Swiss Family Tree House
- The Magic Carpets of Aladdin
- The Barnstormer
- Dumbo the Flying Elephant
- Tomorrowland Speedway
- Big Thunder Mountain Railroad
- Rock’n’Roller Coaster Starring Aerosmith
- Liberty Square Riverboat
- TriceraTop Spin
- Expedition Everest – Legend of the Forbidden Mountain
- Kali River Rapids
- Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance
- Haunted Mansion
- Spaceship Earth
- Mad Tea Party
- Mickey & Minnie’s Runaway Railway
It is important to note that Walt Disney World Resort Cast Members do everything they can to keep all rides and attractions across the property operational on a daily basis. However, temporary downtime does sometimes occur due to mechanical issues or general maintenance.
Inclement weather in the Central Florida area can also cause unexpected closures, as it is not safe for certain rides to operate in electrical storms.
If you happen to be at Walt Disney World Resort today, check the My Disney Experience app on your smartphone for the latest ride closure information and wait times.
