in Walt Disney World

Temporary attraction closures at Disney World can commonly occur when there is a maintenance issue or an unforeseen circumstance affecting an aspect of the attraction.

When this happens, Guests must hold off on their ride plans until the attraction is once again running. Typically, if an attraction temporarily closes, Disney can have it back up and running once again that same day. That being said, things can always change, and closures sometimes can take longer than expected.

Today, it seems that EPCOT opened without one of its popular attractions, Test Track! Test Track is an attraction in Future World that often boasts long wait times, but today, it was not open for Guests entering the theme park. At this time, it’s unclear why the attraction has temporarily closed.

Shaun Ranks the Mouse (@rankingthemouse) Tweeted that the ride was closed shortly after the park opened, and other attraction wait times were much longer than usual.

Test Track still closed 2.5 hours into park operations. How often is Gran Fiesta Tour at 40 minutes?!?

When the park did open, WDW Stats (@WdwStats) shared that the ride had an 80-minute wait.

“That wasn’t flying. That was falling with style.” – Woody. Visit our website for actual waiting times on the day itself

If we look at the My Disney Experience now, we can see that Test Track remains closed. According to the app, that is not the only ride that is undergoing closure at the moment. Disney’s Hollywood Studios has Slinky Dog Dash closed, and at Magic Kingdom Carousel of Progress and Tom Sawyer Island is also temporarily closed.

Disney describes Test Track as:

Take the Ultimate Test Drive
Cruise over to the gleaming Chevrolet Design Center to create your own virtual concept car. When you’re done, buckle up in a 6-passenger “SIM Car” and take it for an exhilarating spin on the test track.

Rev through rough terrain and obstacles along the winding circuit. Accelerate through straightaways, maneuver switchbacks through inclement weather, hug curves banked at 50-degree angles and scale hills up to 3 stories high.

Reach speeds of up to 65 miles per hour as you put your car through its paces. After each test, check the scoreboard to see how your vehicle performed!

After the Test
Make and share a commercial for your design, race your car again on a miniature virtual test or pose for a picture with your vehicle against a dramatic backdrop for a souvenir of your supercharged day.

If you want to ride Test Track today, be sure to stay tuned to the My Disney Experience app to be the first to know when the ride is once again up and running!
