At Disney World, there are a few attractions that are seemingly prone to temporary closures.
A temporary closure of a Walt Disney World attraction means that the ride was not scheduled for any refurbishment or closure. Still, due to an unexpected maintenance issue, the attraction is not currently running. When this happens, oftentimes, the ride is back up and running that same day.
However, there are instances when an attraction will close down due to a temporary closure and will not reopen for days until the issue has been fixed. In January of 2021, we saw this with Rock ‘N’ Rollercoaster Starring Aerosmith at Disney’s Hollywood Studios, as the ride closed for five consecutive days.
Today, it seems two major Magic Kingdom attractions that often experience temporary closures are yet again temporarily closed. On the My Disney Experience app, we can see both Haunted Mansion and Splash Mountain remained temporarily closed at one point today.
These attractions have a reputation of closing down and then reopening within the hour, so if this is something you ever encounter while at Magic Kingdom with either attraction, you do not have to fret too much. That being said, there is always a chance that the ride could stay closed for much longer, so be sure to keep your plans flexible when an attraction breaks down.
To keep yourself updated, stay tuned to the My Disney Experience app, which will give Guests the most up-to-date information regarding any closed down attraction, as well as when that attraction is once again running.
