The U.S. Centers For Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) has issued a Level 4 travel warning for American vacationers planning to visit the Bahamas. This could impact Disney Cruise Line Guests who plan to visit the island nation on a Disney cruise ship in the near future.

Avoid travel to the Bahamas.

If you must travel to the Bahamas, make sure you are fully vaccinated before travel.

Because of the current situation in the Bahamas, even fully vaccinated travelers may be at risk for getting and spreading COVID-19 variants.

Travelers should follow recommendations or requirements in the Bahamas, including wearing a mask and staying 6 feet apart from others.

Disney Cruise Line — which recently resumed domestic operations after over a year — currently has 39 Bahamian cruise itineraries available through the end of 2021. These include Halloween on the High Seas and Very Merrytime cruises.

At this time, Disney Cruis Line has not commented on the fact that the Bahamas has been added to the CDC’s Level 4 travel warning list. The cruise operator is not currently requiring passengers to be vaccinated against COVID-19 to board the Disney Dream, the Disney Fantasy, and the Disney Wonder when they sail out of U.S. ports.

The Disney Magic, however, is currently requiring Guests to be vaccinated for its Magic at Sea staycation cruises that are only available to U.K. residents.
Inside the Magic will continue to provide updates regarding the status of Disney Cruise itineraries as this situation develops. Currently, the Disney Cruise Line fleet makes port at two Bahamian locations — Nassau and Disney’s private island, Castaway Cay.

Intriguingly, the Bahamas recently banned all cruise liners with unvaccinated passengers onboard from making port due to the Delta variant surge in the country. Again, Disney has not commented publicly on this matter at the time of publication.
