The U.S. Centers For Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) has issued a Level 4 travel warning for American vacationers planning to visit the Bahamas. This could impact Disney Cruise Line Guests who plan to visit the island nation on a Disney cruise ship in the near future.
The CDC’s official webpage for travel to the Bahamas features the following information:
Key Information for Travelers to the Bahamas
Avoid travel to the Bahamas.
If you must travel to the Bahamas, make sure you are fully vaccinated before travel.
Because of the current situation in the Bahamas, even fully vaccinated travelers may be at risk for getting and spreading COVID-19 variants.
Travelers should follow recommendations or requirements in the Bahamas, including wearing a mask and staying 6 feet apart from others.
- Quick guide for travelers.
Disney Cruise Line — which recently resumed domestic operations after over a year — currently has 39 Bahamian cruise itineraries available through the end of 2021. These include Halloween on the High Seas and Very Merrytime cruises.
At this time, Disney Cruis Line has not commented on the fact that the Bahamas has been added to the CDC’s Level 4 travel warning list. The cruise operator is not currently requiring passengers to be vaccinated against COVID-19 to board the Disney Dream, the Disney Fantasy, and the Disney Wonder when they sail out of U.S. ports.
Inside the Magic will continue to provide updates regarding the status of Disney Cruise itineraries as this situation develops. Currently, the Disney Cruise Line fleet makes port at two Bahamian locations — Nassau and Disney’s private island, Castaway Cay.
Intriguingly, the Bahamas recently banned all cruise liners with unvaccinated passengers onboard from making port due to the Delta variant surge in the country. Again, Disney has not commented publicly on this matter at the time of publication.
Update on Disney Cruise Line
Next year, Disney Cruise Line is set for one of its biggest years ever with the debut of its first Triton Class cruise, ship, the Disney Wish. She will take her maiden voyage in June 2022.
The Wish will be the fifth ship in the DCL fleet, joining the Disney Dream, the Disney Fantasy, the Disney Magic, and the Disney Wonder.
