If you haven’t heard of Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson, you’ve probably been living under, well…a rock…for the past decade or so.
The Rock is a former professional wrestler — a WWE Superstar turned actor — and he’s one of the most recognizable celebrities on the planet.
He’s also done quite a bit of work for Disney. Per the Disney Fandom Wiki:
For Disney, he has played Joe Kingman in the 2007 Disney family sports comedy film, The Game Plan and Jack Bruno in the 2009 Disney science-fiction/thriller film, Race to Witch Mountain. He also provided the voice of Maui in the 2016 Disney animated feature film, Moana and Frank in Jungle Cruise.
He also appeared as himself in Cory in the House, Hannah Montana, and Wizards of Waverly Place and as an air marshal in You Again. He was also mentioned in The Proud Family episode, “Smack Mania 6: Mongo Vs. Mama’s Boy”, the Liv & Maddie episodes “Sorta Sisters-a-Rooney” and “Voice-a-Rooney”, and several episodes of That’s So Raven and Raven’s Home.
Over the weekend, Johnson unexpectedly — and somewhat hilariously — got up close and personal with nature when a hawk eating a snake trapped him inside his house during his weekend workout. The actor posted the entire situation on social media, narrating the events — he might have a future as a National Geographic commentator:
The caption on the post reads:
It’s either this hawk’s Copperhead snake or my weekend workout
I tried to open the door with some firm DJ energy and instead of flying away, he got pissed and hasn’t stopped ka kaw’ng me since
Clearly, we both have a few things in common but he’s gotta eat and I gotta train….
Wish me luck, this could get ugly
(for the record, seeing a hawk in their hunting/kill/eat mode up close and personal is amazing. Hawks are deceptively massive, impressive and a very powerful mana )
Fortunately, Johnson survived the encounter and has been posting lots of Jungle Cruise teasers this week!
In his latest post, he wrote:

The official description of Jungle Cruise — which is based on the popular Disney Parks attraction — reads:
Join fan favorites Dwayne Johnson and Emily Blunt for the adventure of a lifetime on Disney’s Jungle Cruise, a rollicking thrill-ride down the Amazon with wisecracking skipper Frank Wolff and intrepid researcher Dr. Lily Houghton. Lily travels from London, England to the Amazon jungle and enlists Frank’s questionable services to guide her downriver on La Quila—his ramshackle-but-charming boat. Lily is determined to uncover an ancient tree with unparalleled healing abilities—possessing the power to change the future of medicine. Thrust on this epic quest together, the unlikely duo encounters innumerable dangers and supernatural forces, all lurking in the deceptive beauty of the lush rainforest. But as the secrets of the lost tree unfold, the stakes reach even higher for Lily and Frank and their fate—and mankind’s—hangs in the balance.
Former pro wrestler Johnson has a number of projects in the works, including Red Notice (2021), Black Adam (2022), San Andreas 2 (TBD), DC League of Super-Pets (2022), and Big Trouble in Little China (TBD).
