Yesterday, we reported that fan-favorite Magic Kingdom attraction, Splash Mountain, closed just a few moments after Park opening and remained closed for quite some time on June 29. Today, June 30, the same situation occurred.
Just after Walt Disney World Resort’s Magic Kingdom Park opened at 8 a.m., Twitter account WDW Stats shared that the popular log flume ride was once again temporarily closed:
Splash Mountain has been temporarily interrupted. On average, an interruption takes 88 minutes.

In this particular case, Splash Mountain reopened relatively quickly after just 30 minutes. WDW Stats confirmed this on their Twitter thread.
It is important to note that Disney World Cast Members work hard to ensure that all theme park rides and attractions are operational all day, every day. However, from time to time, unexpected interruptions occur due to both mechanical failure and general maintenance requirements.
If you are at any of Walt Disney World Resort’s four theme parks — Magic Kingdom, EPCOT, Disney’s Animal Kingdom, or Disney’s Hollywood Studios — check the My Disney Experience app for the latest information about ride closures and wait times.
Disney has not spoken out about what caused the temporary closure of Splash Mountain on June 29 and June 30, so it is unknown if it was the same issue.
It is, however, worth noting that these were unscheduled temporary interruptions and were unrelated to the attractions upcoming Princess and the Frog (2009) retheme featuring characters like Princess Tiana, Prince Naveen, and Louis the Alligator.
The New Orleans-themed reimagining will happen at both Disneyland Resort’s Disneyland Park and Walt Disney World Resort’s Magic Kingdom.
More on Splash Mountain
Disney officially describes the Splash Mountain log flume as:
Gently drift through a colorful Southern bayou along with happy-go-lucky Br’er Rabbit as he looks for his “laughing place.” But be warned: Br’er Bear and Br’er Fox are in hot pursuit of this wayward hare.
Glide by over 100 adorable Audio-Animatronics geese, frogs, raccoons, possums, bees, alligators and other down-home critters as they sing classic Disney ditties, including “Zip-a-Dee-Doo-Dah” and “Ev’rybody’s Got a Laughing Place.”
Then hang on to your hats—this delightful musical cruise ends in an exciting 5-story splashdown into a thorny Briar Patch!
