Summer is in full swing at Walt Disney World Resort, and Park hours reflect the longer days! Today, for instance, Magic Kingdom Park is open from 8 a.m. to 9 p.m., giving Guests plenty of time to enjoy the magic. One fan-favorite ride, however, experienced a temporary closure just minutes after Park opening. Splash Mountain seemingly stopped operating at 8:02 a.m. EST and has not reopened as of the time of publication.

It is important to note that this closure does not have anything to do with Splash Mountain’s upcoming retheme, which will feature characters and scenes from The Princess and the Frog (2009). Disney has not yet announced when the rides at both Walt Disney World Resort and Disneyland Resort will shut down for Princess Tiana, Prince Naveen, and their friends to be added!

Disney officially describes the Splash Mountain log flume as:
Gently drift through a colorful Southern bayou along with happy-go-lucky Br’er Rabbit as he looks for his “laughing place.” But be warned: Br’er Bear and Br’er Fox are in hot pursuit of this wayward hare.
Glide by over 100 adorable Audio-Animatronics geese, frogs, raccoons, possums, bees, alligators and other down-home critters as they sing classic Disney ditties, including “Zip-a-Dee-Doo-Dah” and “Ev’rybody’s Got a Laughing Place.”
Then hang on to your hats—this delightful musical cruise ends in an exciting 5-story splashdown into a thorny Briar Patch!
